BACKGROUND IN TEACHING/TRAINING

• 31 years high school teaching experience (26 years at Ladue High School); retired June, 1990.

• Adjunct Professor at Webster University Math/Computer Dept. since 1990.

• Instructor, St. Louis Graphic Arts Institute, teaching Introduction to Microcomputers and Pagemaker Desktop Publishing.
• Instructor, Maryville University Continuing Education Division (Fenton campus), 1991-93, teaching various short computer courses.
• Short courses for PPI (Productivity Point International).
• Previous experience St. Louis Community College District, taught Appleworks (Apple II), Lotus.

OTHER RELEVANT COMPUTER EXPERIENCE

• "Retired consultant" at Ladue High School, 1990-1993, assisting in Amiga Video Lab and working with Macintosh programs. I completed an extensive graph/spreadsheet project using Microsoft Excel showing relationship of GPA/SAT scores to college acceptance rates.
• Private tutoring/training/consulting in business and home use of computers.
• Macro progaramming on large commercial spreasheets and spreadsheet/word processing combinations

SPECIFIC COMPUTER KNOWLEDGE

General: Familiar with IBM , Macintosh, and Amiga systems. Extensive teaching of Introduction to Microcomputers/DOS & Windows (3.1 and 95). Have taught and tutored Macintosh & Macintosh applications.

Spreadsheets: Have taught Lotus 1-2-3 and Excel extensively, also Quattro Pro. Wrote Lotus training manuals for Maryville University Continuing Education.. Developed spreadsheets with elaborate macro programming for several local businesses, as well as integrating spreadsheet and database applications with macros.

Word Processing: WordPerfect (DOS and Windows), Microsoft Word (DOS, Windows and Macintosh versions), AmiPro. Advanced programming with Word macros.

Databases: Dbase III+ and IV; Microsoft Access -- taught courses in both.

Desktop Publishing: Taught Pagemaker at Graphic Arts Institute; Quark Express at Productivity Point International (PPI). Good basic understanding of printing concepts.

Miscellaneous: Framework, Appleworks (Apple II), other programs (see my flyer); some Commodore Amiga experience. ClarisWorks, Microsoft Works, LotusWorks, Quicken. Often "crash-learn" and teach unfamiliar courses.
