Defining my attitude to communists at present, I am absolutely abstracting from their political program, from degrees of coincidence of this program with Marx-Lenin theory, etc. |
The most essential aspects for me are the following:
So, Ukriane had the chance in October-November 1999 to appear in Guinness Book as the first country where communists have come to power via elections. |
56% |
My country has lost this chance.
THANK GOD ! |
37% |
Communist candidate had won 37% of voices - 19% less than the President!!! |
What do those 37% mean? The following is naturally my own opinion. But it is based on my impressions from concrete events.
1. The Referendum of 17 March 1991.
For those who do not know: the all-union referendum and republican questioning was occurred simultaneously in Ukraine in March 1991.
Question on the referendum was worded approximately so: "Do you agree for Ukraine inclusion in updated Union of Soviet Socialist Republics?".
Question on republican questioning: "Do you agree for Ukraine inclusion in the Alliance of sovereign states on the base of Declarations on the State Sovereignty?"
I don't know, is it necessary to explain the difference? The first question is about some unknown update.
The second one is about the accepted Document, in which the level of independence is clearly stipulated to which Ukraine was tending in 1990-91.
The results of voting cause an amazing: approximately 70% "yes" on the referendum and approximately 80% "yes" - on questioning.
That is to say, I understand that to see an obvious difference between those two questions is outside the savvy possibilities of "new history generality" educated by communists during 70 years.
But to consider at least that the fact of conducting the parallel questioning expects itself some differences - otherwise what this conduct is for?
2. Referendum of 1 December 1991.
More than 80% - for independence. It is interesting, do "new history generality" understand in general, what it wants?
To acknowledge honestly - I voted against "updated Union" and for the Alliance of sovereign states in 17 march 1991.
Also I voted against independence in 1 December 1991. Not therefore that USSR was than-that roads to my heart. But therefore that I understood independence as making of borders of Ukraine with the Poland, Hungary and Romania in the same one that the border with Russia was during the time of USSR. But not vice versa.
That is to say - for independence, but against the insulation. But at least I did not disagree to itself and did not do an u-turn, as nearly 70% "generality", who had demonstrated an aptitude to lean on there, where wind blows.
3. Presidential election of 1994 - "Generality" grows sober.
The great shame on me but I have the honour to live in district where well-known taxi-driver Sukhov was elected to the USSR People Deputies Soviet in 1989.
It was 5 years period from 1989 to 1994 when I was living constantly with the feeling of dissociation with own folk - the last one was persistently electing someone I have voted against.
The Presidential election of 1994 became the deliverance from this feelings when L.Kouchma was elected. I will always remember those flows of dirt which were poured on Danilych from newspapers, radio, television just before the second round eve. But it was the first time when folk had come not there, where blabbermouths lead.
37% is more, than NSDAP in Germany had won in election of 1933!!! |
4. "Generality" is immortal. Parliamentary election of 1998.
The head of Cabinet of Ministers is a member of my party. Two years passed of grivna stability.
Economic decline begins to be held up. Meanwhile - wild and exhausting delays in salary payments.
Power division: "kind" Verhovna Rada that is voting for winter not to come and "cruel" President and Cabinet of Ministers unapt to find facilities to smelt the ice in North Ocean and to heat the water in the Black Sea.
I am a spectator on the polling place. "New generality" is voting. The sample of one person - he is for communists on party lists, for Salygin (one of the powerful businessmen in the city) on the voting county, for the free economic area - on town questioning.
I.e., this specimen is at the same time for communists, for capital and for free economic area. Unbelievable...
The night after election at the PDPU district staff and the morning before the preliminary results form Internet appearance. We are feeling that "lefts" won. Some frost...
Almost the absence of CPU candidates agitation before. Because of - what for?
"Generality" in any case will vote for the commodity mark "Communist Party". This "generality" doesn't even understand that the "communists" who was in power, when the "generality" was 20 years younger and more nice, are presently united in the Socialist Party of Ukraine. I am far from any sympathy for socialists but presently I feel certain pity feeling to them. During the most difficult period for bolsheviks, when a moratorium on CPU activity acted, Alexander Moroz and company had managed to save an organization. But situation forced them to change a signboard.
A charge per the works is. "Generality" is voting for the signboard. But let it will be the lesson for SPU. Doing a shutter on the foolishness be ready for that it turns out to be more foolish than you thought about.
5. Election campaign of 1999. "But what Kouchma has done for the country?"
I am a reserved person. But hearing such question I lost a self-confident-control and offered to value the next situation.
We have appointed a captain of nave. And we have put under him a team of blabbermouths and people with low IQ (Verhovna Rada of 1998 sample). But than we are discontented of his disability to do sensible with such team.
6. "Generality" dies out.
But despite all they did not pass. The hell with Guinness Book. We can live without the records.
The conclusions will come later. But I think that we presently outlive a period of final die up of that part "new history generality", whose declining years do not permit to hope that it will grow wiser.
Those who already have come out of a baby age and did not yet fall into the marasmus already know that pot cheese is gained not from cheese-cakes and one take money not from bedside-table. That to "take care of folk" communists always and everywhere make the folk to need in care.
Election of 1998 has shown that extreme nationalists in our country already have occupied its niche - an order of 2% voices. It is within the clinical rate of pathology.
I seem that following election will show a trend to the hit ...ists in such natural niche of the same order of 2% - as in any normal country.
