What is the significance of the Percentage difference

In the fire inventory list by looking at the percentage difference chart we notice that most of the items listed depreciated in value over the years. However most of the items such as the electronics and furniture would naturally depreciate with age as new printer and zip drives come out and older versions become cheaper and less valuable. Such as in the case of the inkjet printer which was purchased on 9/1/98 at a cost of $ 250.00 As the new model came out over the span of the next year the value of the printer dropped to a cost of $ 150.00

Other things such as the certain collectable have increased in value over the course of a few years such as the designer Barbies, which in 3/25/97 were only worth $ 218.00. however today they are worth $ 258.00 a noticeable increase.

Below is a chart that better illustrates the various objects and how they increased and decreased in value over the years.

When looking at all these factors of appreciation and depreciation there is not much you can do about it or say about it over time furniture gets old and electronics become outdated. The most you can do is take care of you belongings and hope.
