FileDispenser™ optimizes file management by applying filters when copying or moving files from a Source Folder. A Source Folder may be any folder, drive or CD. Files are identified and categorized according to your choice of file attribute such as format, application that create/edit the file, date the file was modified or file name (alphabetically or numerically). A very helpful utility especially for production service bureau and in prepress.
 
FileDispenser™ is an utility designed to meet most user's file management needs. If user needs a very specialized version that will, for example, separate image files by file DPI or color mode, or copy/move invisible files, a customized version may be available.

 
What 's New In Version 3.0

Version 3.0 adds a watching control panel (left), which watches an user-defined hot-folder, checking periodically, copy or move files that been dropped in the hot-folder and categorizes them while copying.

With this floating windoid, user can close FileDispenser™'s main window and let FileDispenser™ do the routing file checking/managing at the background.
 


With version 3.0, user can choose to scan files just in the Source Folder directory or in all sub-folders within the Source Folder as well. If user choose to scan sub-folder, FileDispenser™ will dig into all nested sub folders.

Version 3.0 also adds a directory report window (right) that user can view/print directory of the Destination folder. Newly added files will be marked out as "new" in the directory window.

System requirements:

System 8.0 or later, AppleScript extension and the "Standard Additions" in the "Scripting Additions" folder of the system folder.
 
As FileDispenser™ works only with system 8.0 or later, it is fully compatible with year 2000.

Using FileDispenser™ 3.0
  1. Select a source folder by clicking on the Source Folder button in the main window or on watching control panelor, user can also just drag/drop the folder onto the large square area in the main window.
  2. Select a Destination by clicking on that button in the main window or on watching control panelor, or by dragging/dropping the folder into list window in the main window
  3. Choose how you want the folders to be categorized, by clicking on one of the buttons under "Filters".
  4. Also, make a selection for "If file name exists...".
  5. Make a selection for "Scan Source Folder Only" or "Scan Sub-folder Also".
  6. Select the Duplicate button to copy the source folder to the destination. Or, by holding <option> key and click, the button will change to "Move >>", this will move files in the source folder to the destination.
    Click Start" button on watching control panelor will also start copying/moving process and will keep watching the source folder for any newly dropped file/folder.
  7. Under "File" menu, select "Get Directory Report" to get directory window.clicking on the "Print" button will have the window printed.
FileDispenser™ 3.0 is a shareware of $15. It is fully functional "Out of the box" for a 10-day trial period. After registering, user will receive a serial number by email for each copy.
