A celebration is not complete without a parade, and we have the
finest in the South. Scheduled to start at 11:00 a.m. led by Fire and Rescue
Vehicles. The Clay County Sheriff's Color Guard will lead the main body
of the parade. There will be Miss Keystone Heights High School, Home Coming
King and Queen. The parade Grand Marshall is past Mayor William Beam. Councilman
Beam was selected for his many years of unselfish duty for the citizens
of Keystone Heights. Mrs. Lucile Starnes is also featured who is the widow
of the late Mayor Starnes who initiated our first Independence Day Celebration
29 years ago. The remainder of the parade consists of between 40-50 groups
including the famous Shriners with their varied vehicles. Horses and horse
drawn carriages will conclude the parade. Trophies are awarded to different
groups.
