Monday	13/7/98	Continue to update (Mystical Me page), construct and upload Internet webpages to server. Learn Microsoft Visual Basic 5.0, chapters 3, 4 and 5. Create some sample application after learning the three chapters of Microsoft Visual Basic 5.0 (vb5). Read articles on Text-mining and understand how the programming software vb5 can be used to create the Text-mining program.
Tuesday	14/798	Learn Microsoft Visual Basic 5.0, chapters 6, 7 and 8. Construct and upload Internet webpages (Main Project page) to the server, edit my published webpages (Caught In A Web page) to suit the project requirements. Read computer handout/notes on Microsoft Visual Basic 5.0 to understand further the advance programming codes to create a program.
Wednesday	15/798	Construct Internet webpages for research items, 'RoboCup' and 'Programs and Softwares used for Project ABBA'. Learn Microsoft Visual Basic 5.0, chapter 9. Search for research resources on the World Wide Web (vb5 tips and hints) by using the search engine known as WebFerret (a search engine that search on other multiple search engine). Search the Internet for information on Visual basic programming codes and its accompanying codes to create programs that suit Project ABBA. Search the World Wide Web for resources to create webpages, resources searched for are animated gifs and background. Read the handouts and notes on Text-Mining, to understand how the program works. Liaison Officer visit, Mrs. Ho-Tan Liang Gek. Meeting about well-being of myself as an attachment student in KRDL.
Thursday	16/7/98	Construct Internet webpage for research items, 'Text and Data-Mining'. Learn Microsoft Visual Basic 5.0, chapters 10 and 11. Edit and update the main project webpage. Find and read information on the Internet that pertains to visual basic programming. Visit visual basic Internet website at SAGE Resources. Read handouts on Text-Mining with accompanying diagrams on the process of Text-Mining given by Tralvex.
Friday	17/7/98	Visit visual basic programming Internet website at Jelsoft Enterprise. Know more about the tips to good visual basic programming. Edit and update some of the Internet webpages on Project ABBA. Have a half and hour discussion on Project ABBA with colleague, Daniel Chua. Discuss about the overall idea of how the project should function and how the design should look like. Search for examples on Microsoft Visual Basic programming codes on the Internet and learn how to relate them to our project. try to create some sample application using Microsoft Visual Basic 5.0 after learning how to write programming codes to create some sample application.

Weekly Summary of Task / Assignment

Since the second week of the attachment is actually a learning week for me, I learnt a lot of new things which I can make use of the knowledge to apply it in my project and carry it out successfully. New software are being introduced to me and I actually learnt a programming software to write programs for Project ABBA. I also learnt how to make good Internet websites by exploring the advance functions of the Internet webpage software known as Microsoft Front Page 98. Below is a list of task and duties carried out throughout the week.

Learning the programming software known as Microsoft Visual Basic 5.0 (vb5).
This powerful and friendly programming software I’m learning is actually to be used in creating the application programs for Project ABBA. All user Interface for project ABBA are designed and created by using this software. I learnt how to write sample programming codes to create sample application and programs, upon learning the chapters in the learning CD-ROM.

Learning how the sample codes for vb5 obtained in the Internet works, and applicable to Project ABBA.
I search the Internet by using the powerful search engine known as ‘WebFerret’ to search for tips on vb5 programming and sample programs. This is to provide me with better understanding on how programs are being executed by using programming codes. After learning how the programming codes works, I try to construct new sample programs similar to the ones that I have learnt. Some of them really work.

Learning how to use the Internet webpage editing software known as Microsoft Front Page 98.
I took only a couple of hours to master this software, upon mastering its advance functions, I created some neat and new Internet webpages for the Project ABBA Internet site. There are some ‘bugs’ in reference to the compatibility with Netscape programs, but I just did not let it bring me down, I did not use it and continue creating the webpages.

1st meeting with colleague (Daniel Chua) regarding Project ABBA.
We had roughly one and a half-hour of meeting session with each other regarding project ABBA. The things that we discussed and agreed upon are;
                                        - how the overall interface design of the program should look like,
                                        - the overall idea on how the program should run,
                                        - what other software to be included in the program, we have decided to use ‘MS Access'.                                         - how to create programs by using vb5,
                                        - how to get help if there is problem during the construction of the program.

Construct Internet webpages for research resources for Project ABBA.
I constructed three individual webpages for three different research items, RoboCup, Text-Mining and links to software used for the project. Within each page, there are links to official Internet websites to the research items for Project ABBA.
