- Installation of 4 VB Internet Libraries and evaluate the one entitled 'IPWorks'.
- Write some comments on the VB Internet Library (IPWorks) after trying out some sample
programs.
- Focused on samples entitled 'FTP' and 'HTTPfile', read and analyze its code. Try to
solve the error of those samples by referring to the 'Help' file and 'Readme' file.
- Read some generic information on Neural Networks on the
Internet.
- Attend a talk on 'Neural Network
Application' given by Tralvex in one of the TCTP (Third World Country Training
Program) program. The focus on this talk can relate to text and data-mining, but the level
of intensity is much more greater than the project I am doing. Hints and tips on text and
data-mining issues can be acquired through the JSAIC website on neural network
application, used in this talk.
- Attend a (one hour and fifteen minutes) seminar in KRDL, given by a Japanese speaker
(Dr. T. Ohira) entitled 'Application in Neural Networks'. This seminar can relate to
text-mining, but the level of intensity is much more greater than the project I am doing.
Hints and tips on text-mining issues can be acquired through this seminar.

Weekly Summary of Task / Assignment
I used this fourth week to
evaluate and learn the three Visual Basic Internet Libraries, they are
IPWorks!, Crescent, and Distinct Visual Internet Toolkit
32-bit. There are many components within each VB library, for example there this
e-mail component, security components and many more, but I am required to concentrate on
two of components in each VB Internet Library, and they are the FTP and HTTP component.
The FTP component deals with sending file to and fro to remote servers, while the HTTP
component deals with Internet hypertext/media documents and its associates.
- Learning how to use the three VB Internet Libraries.
Learning how to use these tools require me to install the program and have a hands-on
usage of the program upon installation. I go through one program per day. I read the
Readme files and consulted the Help file when faced with problems. I also visited some
Internet websites to have a better understanding on the programs. I also read the
discussion list on comments on each program in order to learn about the functions, faults
and advantages of each program.
- Evaluating the three VB Internet Libraries upon having a hands-
on usage.
Upon using and have a hands-on usage of each program, I write some comments on each of
them. Comments are divided into three different categories, and they are mainly concern
with the FTP component, the HTTP component of each program and finally my overall comments
of each of them. I also include the software of my preference in the overall
comments portion of the evaluation page.
- Acquiring some information on the application of Neural Networks.
I attended a talk on 'Neural Network Application' given by Tralvex on one of the TCTP
(Third World Country Training Program) program. The focus on this talk can relate to text
and data-mining, the application for Project ABBA, the only difference is that Neural
Networks is more advance because it uses Artificial Intelligence. Hints and tips on text
and data-mining issues can be acquired through the JSAIC website on neural network
application, used in this talk. After attending the talk given by Tralvex, I later
attended a (one hour and fifteen minutes) seminar in KRDL, given by a Japanese speaker
(Dr. T. Ohira) entitled 'Application in Neural Networks'
