WELCOME TO METEOROIDS
---------------------

The object of the game is to obtain a high score by guiding your ship through a
meteoroid storm and destroying as many meteoroids as possible. Points are scored for
each meteoroid hit and for any alien spaceship destroyed.
Debris from exploding meteoroids can destroy your ship if you are too close to a
meteoroid when it explodes. Hitting a large meteoroid will cause it to split into two
medium sized meteoroids, each of which will in turn split into two smaller meteoroids if
hit. The alien spaceship is immune from meteoroids and will steer directly for your ship
when it appears.

PLAYING THE GAME
----------------

The machine first asks your name; type this and press the "ENTER" key. Then type in
the level of difficulty required (0 is best initially) and press "ENTER" again. You are
then asked which mode you wish to play in:-

(a) Enter mode - the ship is controlled by using the keyboard as
                                 follows:-
Right Arrow Key (->) - rotates gun clockwise
Left Arrow Key (<-) - rotates gun anti-clockwise
      Space Bar - fires gun
Clear Key - puts your ship into hyperspace
"D" Key - accelerates ship forward
(b) Mode"1" - the ship is controlled using the right joystick
Right Joystick - controls ship and gun direction, also acceleration
      Right Button - fires gun
Clear Key - puts your ship into hyperspace
(c) Mode"2" - the ship is controlled using both joysticks
Right Joystick - controls ship and acceleration
      Right Button - fires gun
Left Joystick - controls gun direction
Left Button - puts your ship into hyperspace

When the desired mode has been entered, the game can be started by pressing
"ENTER".

A useful tip - when first playing the game, use the "ENTER" mode and stay in the
middle of the screen, concentrating on gun direction.

Dragon Data/Spectral Associates hope you enjoy Meteoroids as much as we did
creating it. Have a good time.
