ALERT camp!
The ALERT Cadet Leadership Training- One week straight of pure fun, exitement, and both physical and spiritual training. Based at the old headquaters of the Air Land Emergency Resource Team (Northwoods for short) in Wisconsin, 600 young men gathered the first day arriving from early morning in planes to VERY late at night in buses.
Sleeping in old army tents with 12 other guys, waking at 6 every morning for P.T. (Physical Training), and taking 3 hour night hikes begining at midnight were all apart of the daily routine at ALERT camp. Sometimes during lessons on how to canoe, find your way without a compass, or mountain climb, guys would fall alseep becuase of the exhausting shedule. Another regular activity was listening to encouraging and challenging talks about our walks with the Lord.
The many many young men were split up into 4 groups: red, blue, green, and khaki, and each of these color groups were split into aviation call signs. For example, Chad, My Brother and I were all in Green Charlie. Here's a picture of Green Charlie!!
