Surah(11) Hud verse 82 and 83, The Holy Koran.

 My Dear Son!

Recently it came to my attention that school boards in Canada decided to distribute condoms to students in order to protect them from sexually transmitted diseases. I read the article, which indicated the decision of school boards also, included education on sexual freedom and acceptance of homosexuality as a normal way of life (Dobson, p.2). This information made me very worried and concerned about the teachings provided in school to you and other students.

I am afraid that the notions of sexual freedom, acceptance of homosexuality as a normal way of life, and policy of condom distribution may have been interpreted as 'OK' in some of your peer's eyes. It might have caused embarrassment to some students like you. You might have some questions about the validity of these ideas within our cultural and religious background. These teachings may encourage some of the students to try and practice this sexual freedom.

I have also discovered that explicit sex movies are also part of the lectures. After these movies are shown in class there must be open talk and discussion about different concerns and personal experiences that students might have. I believe you and your peers must have some unanswered questions about your beliefs and non-participation in these immoral practices. My letter will address some of your concerns. I also encourage you to ask me any question on this topic that comes into your mind.

Sexual freedom or premarital sex is surely an immoral and unethical practice. Changing partners or doing unethical sexual practices is always considered a bad thing and causes many problems in society. It is also a major cause of venereal diseases. The epidemic of 'AIDS' is solid evidence for what can happen when some one has multiple partners and homosexuality as a lifestyle.

All decent societies, and almost every religion, prohibit and oppose these evil behaviors. God has created human beings, and given them innumerable gifts. God has created nothing in this world without reason. Attraction to the opposite sex and relationships are very sacred gifts of God. He has provided the opposite sex for companionship, care, and recreation of humanity. Misusing or abusing this gift is a clear sin, and against any ethical or religious values.

As you already know, our culture and religious teachings do not allow us to adopt these evil and sinful behaviours. Islam is very clear, strict, and straightforward about adultery:

The woman and the man guilty of adultery or fornication_ Flog each of them with a hundred stripes: Let not compassion Move you in their case, in a matter prescribed by Allah [God], if ye believe in Allah and the Last Day: And let a Party of the Believers witness their punishment.

Let no man guilty of Adultery or fornication marries any but a Woman similarly guilty, or an unbeliever: Nor let any but Such a man or unbeliever marry such a woman: To the believer Such a thing is forbidden (Surah (24) Al_Nur 2 and 3).

Homosexuality is clearly immoral, unnatural, and unethical behaviour. Among all the earthly creatures, the human race is the only one that practices this evil behaviour. This is also the major cause of the 'AIDS' epidemic. God has created sexual desire in every creature for physical comfort and intimate relationship. Love, commitment, and responsibilities are part of this gift. Homosexuals are abusing this sacred gift just to satisfy their physical urges. The practice of homosexuality is an invitation to God's vengeance. The holy book of Koran tells us the story of the nation of prophet Loot(Peace Be upon Him). The vengeance of God came in the form of heavy stones from the sky and destroyed the whole population because of their unnatural sexual preferences:

When Our decree issued, We turned (the cities) Upside down, And rained down on them brimstones hard as baked Clay, Spread, layer on layer Marked as from thy Lord: nor are they ever far from those who do wrong (Surah (11) Hud 82)!

I am aware of the difficulties you are facing in this culture and the problems with peer pressure. I am also aware of the confusing messages you are getting through the media, society, school, and peers. But I am very confident about your strong character, will power, and understanding of religious and cultural values. I am sure you are able to face, judge and follow the right path. You might face some pressure and difficulties dealing with your urges, and inviting opportunities, but when you get a little older and more mature, you will feel very proud of your values and character.

May God give you strength and power to follow the right path. May God bless you!

You’re caring and loving dad.
