The Ferengi have incredible ships, technologies and weapons. What happen if they want a fight with the Enterprise?

< Scene >: The Enterprise travelling in space slowly. Picard: (voice) Captain's log, stardate 10001.00. The Enterprise is supposed to be arrived SpaceDock K17 in 89 hours, it is obvious that we can reach the destination even travelling in impulse speed. Therefore, I designed to let the crew members to find some times for themselves to relax.

< Scene >: Sick Bay Beverly:   Believe me Data, it'll work! Data:   I do not know doctor, according to my records, there were many people tried to achieve the same goal but failed. I think there is 98.4192 percent of possibility we will fail. Geordi:   Come on! Be positive! We can do it if we believe in ourselves. Besides, I think the Captain will love this idea Data:   You believe the Captain does not like his current physical appearance? But I never see him complain to anyone. Beverly:   Trust me on this one Data. He just don't want the others know it. Come here, just help me a bit over there and it'll be finished. (Data pours some substances into a little bottle) Beverly & Geordi:   There! It's finished! Data:   Intriguing, the Captain will like to grow more hair but he does not want to talk about it. < Scene >: A 20th century personal office. (Picard dressed as Dickson Hill, listening to the radio) Worf:   (voice) Captain Picard report to the Bridge. Picard:   What is it, Lieutenant? Worf:   (voice) Sorry to interrupt, but I think there's something you might interested Picard:   (walking out of the office) I'm on my way. Picard:   (talking to the hollodeck computer) Computer freeze program.

< Scene >: Main Bridge (Picard step out of the turbo lift and walk to Worf) Picard:   Report. Worf:   I have detected an unidentify vessel heading to us in warp speed, factor 9.9! Picard:   Send a sub-space signal to them and ask them what's their purpose. Worf:   I've tried that Sir, but no response. Picard:   (hit the comm-batch) All senior officers report to the Bridge. Picard:   How soon will that vessel catch on us? Worf:   Approximately 22 minutes. (Riker, Data, Geordi and Troi step out the turbo lift and go to their usual station) Geordi:   (in front of a science station) Transfer Engineering to Bridge. Riker:   What is it Captain? Picard:   An unidentify vessel is gaining on us and not answering any hails. Riker:   Could it be dangerous? Worf:   It's very likely. Picard:   Counsellor? Troi:   I ... I feel ... I feel ... Riker:   What do you feel Deanna? Troi:   I feel ... p ... Picard:   Wait Counsellor! Instead of pain and joy, what CAN you feel? Troi:   Well, actually those are the only 2 things I can sense. (Picard and Riker rolls their eyes) Data:   I have scanned the vessel Sir. It is heavily armed and the ship's resources are well organized. (Picard and Riker walk to Data's console) Data:   Their ship's hull is made of some unknown material that we do not have any references about it. Worf:   They're charging weapons Sir! Riker:   Shields up! Red alert! Riker:   In that range? Data:   As a matter of fact, the vessel is already in visual range. We have spent too much time in talking and wasted a huge amount of time. Apparently, our communication technique is not efficient at all. Picard:   On main viewer. (A vessel displays) Picard:   Hail them. Worf:   (tried hailing) No response. (Picard and Riker share a look) Worf:   Captain! They're firing on us! Riker:   (shout) Prepare for impact! (screen shaking for a moment) Picard:   Damage report! Worf:   Shields're holding, no major damage. Picard:   Open all channels in all frequencies! Worf:   Channels opened! Picard:   This is Captain Jean Luc Picard of the starship USS Enterprise, representing the United Federation of Planets. Attacking alien vessel, why are you firing on us? (Everyone wait for a few seconds) Worf:   They're firing again! (screen shaking again) Worf:   Shields're down to 83 percent. Picard:   Attacking vessel, I'm Captain Jean ... Alien:   (interrupting Picard) (voice) Shut up Captain Jean Luc Picard of the starship USS Enterprise! Picard:   (to Riker) Shut up!? Data:   (turn to Picard) Yes Sir. It means stop making voice from your mouth. Picard:   Yes, yes, Data. I know what a shut up is! Why don't you just shut up! (Data raise eye bows and turn back) Worf:   On main viewer Sir. (Everyone look at the main view screen, a big Ferengi face showing) Ferengi:   Surrender humannnn! Picard:   (rubs his hands and look around) Finally we can talk. (look at the viewer) I'm Captain Jean Luc Picard, who am I speaking to? Ferengi:   I'm Pog. Picard:   Very good Pog. Why are you attacking us in Federation space? Pog:   Are you deaf!? I told you to surrender! Picard:   (act amaze) In what authority? (screen shaking) Pog:   This is my authority. Worf:   Shields're down to 67 percent! (Picard makes a cut-off sign to Worf) Worf:   Muted. Riker:   He sounds serious. Picard:   Data? Data:   I do not think our weapons can penetrate their shields. Picard:   May be I have to buy us some time. (then give Worf a nod) Worf:   Channel opened. Pog:   Open what!? You idiot! Don't you remember I force the channel opened!? Now how much you're going to pay me to buy the time? Picard:   We'll never surrender Pog! Forget about it! Pog:   Liar! I know you've surrendered to Q's entity at least once! Picard:   Whatever! I need to have a meeting with my crews. Pog:   Very well, you have 3 hours. Picard:   Briefing.

< Scene >: Observation lounge Picard:   Suggestions! Riker:   Contact Starfleet. Worf:   We can't, they've blocked all frequency channels. Troi:   Captain, I feel ... Picard:   Yea, yea, pain. Why don't you just shut up!? Geordi:   Our weapons can't penetrate their shields, what can we do? Data:   We can beam aboard their ship. Picard:   Data? Data:   I have scan their shields and find that our transporter signal can get through their shields. Riker:   Excellent! Then we can setup some explosives in their ship and destroy their ship! Woo hoo! Picard:   Or scare them away. The Prime Directive Number One. Riker:   Damn that Directive! Data:   Not exactly Sir. Picard:   Data? Data:   Even we can beam aboard their ship, but the internal structure of the ship is using the same material as the external hull. I believe none of our weapons can make a scratch on their ship, even from the inside Sir. Picard:   Merde (French)! Options? Data:   Sir, even though we can not damage their ship physically, I think we can damage their ship in another way. Logically. Geordi:   (whistle) Good thinking Data! Riker:   What the hell are you talking about Data? Data:   We can beam aboard their ship, then try to find access and damage their main computer system, so as to gain tactical advantages. Riker:   Good thinking Data! Geordi:   Hey! I said that! Riker:   I am the Commander! I said that! You don't! Data:   I suggest we better scan their ship again and learn more about their computer system before beaming aboard their ship. Picard:   Make it so! Riker:   You're just about to agree with any suggestions, aren't you? Picard:   Agree! Saying "make it so" is what a starship Captain do. Learn Number One! (turns to everyone) Okay gentlemen, you have your orders. Dismiss. Everyone:   Aye Sir! Worf:   (walking outside Observation lounge) Just what is our orders exactly Sir? Riker:   Well, as usual. Let Data do all the works, we just stand behind him and watch. Then the whole ship take credit if it work and blame Data if it doesn't.
