catcat's Trek Q & A

The followings are some common (may be not common) questions about the catcat's Trek (or Star Trek) from visitors. All questions/comments are welcome and the catcat will try its best to answer them personally (may be posted on this page as well). Contact information will not be posted without the question submitter's authorizations. If there're any questions related to computer, please refer to the catcat's Home web site instead. (Anyways, these 2 sites are using the same e-mail address: [email protected] )

Q6. What will be the next episode series?   A6. No comment. It's taken a lot of efforts to produce those 14 episodes (from 0 - 13). The catcat doesn't want to do cheap shot and might need some rests before the next series (if it does happen) coming (even Paramount can't keep up the Voyager series). Currently, the catcat's planning may be occasionally a special episode or movie ... if time allowed. Before that happen, prepare for more top 10!

Q5. You've mentioned a song named "The Inner Light" in your Top 10 List 6. What is this song?   A5. The song The Inner Light is written by Jay Chattaway. This song has played in 2 STTNG episodes. (I can't remember the episodes' title) The first appearance of this song was in the episode when 1701-D encountered an alien probe which affect Picard's mind (and caused him in a coma) and let him experience the life of one of their town man (who plays a penny whistle) for several years. Picard played this song in one of the scene. The second appearance of this song is in an episode which Picard's felt in love with a new officer (who plays piano) but has to transfer her off the Enterprise 'cuz Picard don't want to assign her any dangerous mission. Picard duet with her in the "love making" scene. (Episode title: The Lession) The song is modified a little in the latest episode and I personally like that one.

Q4. Is the stardate in your episodes real?   A4. "Real"!? We're still living on earth and warp drive doesn't exist yet. The stardate is systematic and similar to the one using in the STTNG series (not like TOS, all stardates are just a random number) but slightly different. The format is: CYYMM.## where C = Century, YY = Year, MM = Month and ## = Episode# of the month. (Note: catcat count starts from 0) For examples, 10105.07 means the 8th episode of the month June in 2001.

Q3. Where do you get the script? How many episodes have you planned to put on-line?   A3. The catcat got the script(s) from its brain. (may be mixed with some short jokes from other brains, but basically, the whole thing is catcat's productions) There're already over 7 episodes planned. I'm glad that people start asking about the episodes, they sure take a lot of thoughts. I'm planning to put at least 1 episode on-line per month. (Come on, it's only a 1 person production, I can't put one on-line every week)

Q2. Will this site talk about computers?   A2. It's a Yes-and-no question. Basically, it won't talk about serious computer stuff; but some jokes might hit those area. As a whole, the catcat's Trek is for jokes loving STTNG fans who at the same time as a computer person. Non-computer related visitors are also welcome, but they may not get all the jokes.

Q1. How often do you update this site?   A1. Once in 2 weeks. (i.e. following the same schedule as the catcat's Home)

Q0. What is catcat's Trek?   A0. The catcat's Trek is a place for the catcat to post funny stuff about STTNG. It contains 2 types of material mainly: Top 10 Lists and Episodes. The Top 10 Lists are groups of short funny thought about Star Trek (mostly TNG). The Episodes are episode scripts which are written by the catcat. (Other features may be added but the catcat think both these 2 features can make it busy enough already)
