shopping area, the Goose Green Delicatessen presents only the
finest in European delights.
Locally
grown beautifully fresh organic fruits and vegetables simply
shower the shops forecourt giving entrance to an Aladin's Cave
that is a culinary haven.
Here
the shelves and counters display an impressive selection of
colours, flavours and variety in dried pickled and preserved
fruits, mustards, chutneys, curry, pasties, relishes,
interesting vinegars, oils from all over Europe, outstanding
choices of olives and refreshing non-alcoholic fruit wines.
Dried grains and pulses of imported Italian pastas, rice,
couscous and lentils are a speciality of the delicatessen.
A wide variety of Mediterranean
ingredients can be obtained to create dishes usually only
enjoyed in your favourite holiday destinations. Vegetable
crisps, organic biscuits, chocolate and dairy products are also
an excellent asset.
The delicatessen
counter is brimming with an array of local and imported cheeses,
Spanish and Italian salamis, fish fresh from the market,
homemade pates, pies, seafood cocktails, cakes, fresh fruit
salads, teas and coffee's.
If you cannot wait
to get home to indulge in your purchases, choose an adventurous
filling (from the huge sandwich board) on either a Vienna,
baton, bagel, croissant, ciabatta or a good old balm.
The lunchtime
specials board changes weekly and includes a sumptuous feta,
tomato, roast pepper, olive, cucumber and lettuce ciabatta.
Why not take
advantage of the large choice in snacks with perfect picnic ingredients
like samosas, stuffed vine leaves, homemade dips and salads,
that can accompany your trip out in the hills or simply laid out
on your lawn!
Throughout the
year the friendly and helpful staff take orders to create
exciting fruit baskets, which may offer the perfect gift for a
special occasion. In winter months, the Goose Green Delicatessen
also offers a range of special Christmas hampers to order.
Bookings for outside catering (30 heads max) of delicious cold
buffets for business events and party's can be arranged.
