In the heart of Derbyshire lies the picturesque old town of Bakewell. Famous for its tarts of the same name, this historic settlement has provided locals, visitors and tourists alike with many memories of happy days enjoying the traditional English countryside. Along the banks of the tranquil river Derwent stands the 18th century Georgian home of Sir Joseph Paxton. The front doors of which give entrance to the ground floor occupants of Bridge House, Paxton's.

Recently refurbished, the bar and dining room overlook the listed and protected gardens and terrace providing a beautiful environment to wine and dine and relax amongst traditional Georgian features.

Paxton's is perfect for enjoying morning coffee and light snacks before a day sightseeing or indulging in a more substantial afternoon meal after a day spent trekking.

The restaurant and gardens can be hired for all your special occasions from a works party of twelve through to a wedding reception for sixty seated guests. For smaller parties, tables can be screened for privacy.

You can choose either a buffet meal or a more lavish formal meal for your event and Chef Martin is always happy to discuss your requirements. All menu's can be tailored ensuring each customer receives the type of reception required at the price they wish to pay. Paxton's also have a nice selection of wine to accompany your menu
(ask to see wine list).

Paxton's can also arrange for a pianist, jazz band or DJ to provide entertainment or maybe you could choose from a long list of celebrities to entertain you and your guests.

Finally, Paxton's restaurant and gardens provide the perfect surroundings for photographic opportunities to make your day all the more special. In the summer the gardens are simply blooming with flowers and foliage and in the winter a huge log fire and seasonal decorations make a wonderful Yule-Tide atmosphere.
