The
39 Steps has long been established as one of Manchester's
premier restaurants and has over the years deservedly attracted
a loyal following. The relaxed and friendly atmosphere along
with the comfortable surroundings helps create the perfect
dining experience and a warm welcome awaits everyone.
Owner
and Chef John Thompson captures the imagination in preparing a
multitude of mouth watering dishes using only the freshest food
and finest ingredients direct from the market to your table.
The
French / Italian influenced cooking, with the emphasis on
healthy eating (no fat dishes and dressings), is a delight and
those with special dietary requirements can be catered for
personally, a nice touch.
The
specialty fish dishes and the highlight "Sea Bass 39
Steps" is a particular favourite with the regular
Clientele; fresh fillet of Bass and strips of smoked Salmon on a
tangy lime and cream sauce - delicious!
Each
day the carefully selected menu is displayed on the restaurants
blackboard and always offers a wide variety of dishes to suit
all tastes, including very good vegetarian options. The list of
sweets and fine chesses are well chosen and 39 Steps own blended
coffee and tea's are fabulous!
Lastly,
no review of this restaurant would be complete without mention
of the wine list. The 39 Steps boasts what is probably
Manchester's finest wine list with over 60 wines expertly chosen
for your enjoyment.
