My name is Ronald Salas. I am a Canadian, as well as a Filipino. For those of you who do not know, a Filipino is someone who was born in, or lives, in the Philippines, a small country in South-East Asia. I was born in the Philippines, and lived there for thirteen years, before I moved to Canada. Thus, I am a man of two nationalitites, and I am unsure of where my heart truly resides. To paraphrase Seneca however, it must needs be that wherever I am is my home, and thus, I treat Canada as my home. And, for all its faults, it is a good country in which to live.

I sometimes miss the times of my youth, and the places I had travelled long ago, as I'm sure many do when they get older... I miss the beaches, the markets, the carnivals... I miss the way we celebrate Halloween, Lent, Christmas and New Years. I miss the people and friends that I had known and left, for this strange country full of "foreigners". And I wonder, to this day, when I shall see the land of my youth again.

I have many interests, the main ones being, Art, Literature, Comics, and Zen. As with anybody else, however, I have many more interests than these, with History, Sociology, Psychology, Film, Astronomy, Physics, Languages, and Martial arts, to name a few. It is my belief that it is the sign of a healthier person that they have many interests than few, for it is these people who are more balanced, who they are is not determined solely by one or two things.

However, above all, I try to be a human being. Nothing more, nothing less. It is a difficult task. Every person has a number facets to their personalities. Here are some facets of mine.
