The Lion in Winter The BCHS drama department is one of the most active high school drama programs in North Florida. Working in conjunction with the Baker County Community Theatre and the College Theatre at Lake City Community College, the BCHS drama department has produced over 60 mainstage and studio productions. Last season the BCHS drama department produced Agatha Christie's Ten Little Indians and Mark Twain's The Adventures of Tom Sawyer. The drama department also presented "The Invader," a cutting from Robert McCammon's Boy's Life and Broadway in Baker, a musical review in cooperation with the BCHS girls' chorus. Each year, BCHS travels to the Petit Jean Performance Festival, in Conway, Arkansas. Sponsored by The University of North Texas, Petit Jean brings together some of the finest university theatre departments in the country for a weekend of performing fiction. BCHS has represented high school theatre departments at Petit Jean for the last 15 years. Last year BCHS performed with Amherst College, LSU, and Georgia Southern University.
The BCHS drama department will hold auditions for their spring production of the musical, The Wiz, Feb. 7,8,9, from 2-4 pm in the BCHS Auditorium The BCHS drama class is working on personal resumes.
