powerful search engine makes it easy to find the books you want. You
can search for books in two ways: Quick Search and Advanced Search.
To perform a Quick Search by title, author, or keyword, use the
Quick Search field at the top of almost every page. For a more
advanced search, click on the Expert Search keywords on the top
navigation bar of almost every page.
Search
Results
Your search results will display information about the book(s)
you requested. If there are no matches in the in-print book
database, the search engine will try to find matching out-of-print
books.
Search results are presented in bestselling order. To view your
results in alphabetical order or in order by date published, re-sort
the list by clicking on A to Z or Date Published.
Quick
Search
Go to the Quick Search field at the top of every page.
1.
Type the desired title, author, or keyword in the text field.
2.
Select title, author, or keyword from the pulldown menu to indicate
the type of search you want and click Search.
3.
Your search results will display a list of books that match your
search criteria, arranged in bestselling order.

Too many titles? You can narrow the results by selecting a specific
format, price, or age range, or choosing only Reader's Catalog
recommendations. You'll find those choices in boxes on the left-hand
side of the page.

Expert
Search
Click on the Advanced Search button in the top navigation bar of the
home page or any page in Books. You can search by title, author,
keyword, or ISBN (International Standard Book Number -- a unique
number located above the bar code on the jacket or on the copyright
page of every book). Our search engine can find a book even if you
remember only part of the author's name or title.
Search via title, author, keyword:
1.
Enter as much information as you know into one or more of the fields
on the search form. Type in the title or part of the title of the
book in the title field. Type the author's last name and, if you
know it, the author's first name. Type in words about the book in
the keyword field (a keyword could be a subject, like Sports,
Cooking, or Travel, or it could be a word in the title).
2.
When you have finished entering your search information, click on
Search -- or narrow your search by clicking on the pop-up menu to
restrict your search by Price (under $10, under $25, or under $50),
by Format (hardcover, paperback, audio, or large print), or for
children's books, by a particular range of children's ages. You can
also click on the Subjects pop-up menu to focus your search on a
particular subject.
Search via ISBN: Type the ten-digit ISBN in the box next to ISBN and
click Search
