Winter has come to my corner
brothermoser
of the Scaper garden. The trees are coated with freshly fallen snow and the pond is frozen over. Please feel free to join me for a nice evening skate party. Be alert because I'm a lousy skater. Is there anyone out there who wants to be my skate dancing partner?
In the lodge I have set up a large pot of hot chocolate to warm your insides. I've also got a roaring fire going in the fire place. There is even an old fashioned popcorn popper for the fire. Bring other holiday quaffs or edibles if you wish.
And best of all I brought a fir tree and placed it in the corner. I have placed a star on top of the tree. Please feel free to bring decorations for the tree or the lodge.
Seasons greetings from Brother Moser to all of you!
olpaint -- Thanks for the invite
I have this old ice boat, ya know-like a sail boat with skis.
And a lighted Santa that Mrs. paint woun't let me put up this year---OK?
O_O
JilaCosa -- I’d volunteer as your skating partner....
but we both end up sitting on our butts for most of the dance. I brought a couple of ornaments that I make myself. A small Santa face made from a styrofoam shape covered in beaded pins. Hope you like them. Now where did you say that hot chocolate was???
scifigrrl -- I skate w more enthusiasm than skill
but I will dust off my blades and get them sharped and join you for a spin around the rink. :)
I will bake a plate of my chrismas sugar cookies & bring a thermos of hot choclate.
My favorite ornaments for the tree are the gold & blue colored oblong ornaments that my mom always had on her tree. I was not the most graceful child, but I was always careful not to beak those beautiful glass ornaments.
:)
artickat -- stand back!
Are there breaks on these things? Oh frell, I think I'd do better if I just wore my sneaks! I brought a lifesaver man to hang on the tree. Hot coca anyone?
goulagirl -- Love to join you BroMo
but my skating is like my dancing...dangerous. I'll just sit by and watch if you don't mind. I brought some tea with lots of honey for those feeling a little under the weather. Also have a lot of cookies: oatmeal and dried cranberries and cinnamon. Got a little carried away making them for Ben's party. Well, got a good seat now. Time to watch the silliness ensue. Happy Holidays to all.
Lisa (aka goulagirl)
mouse in the lab -- Wow-what a great setup
you've got here brothermoser! I'll skate with you, as it used to be a favorite pastime of mine. Just tell me when you want to go.
The hot chocolate looks great and I'm going to grab a seat by the fire. Look at that tree! It's glowing under the lights and decorations from the fellow scapers. I think I'll use the popcorn popper with the kernels I brought and make some popcorn strings for the tree. "Anyone know how to fly this thing?" I hope I don't set the place on fire...
Love, Mouse
Juno24 -- oh, how wonderful!
I can't skate, but I do enjoy a good fire in the fireplace, and an old fashioned tree trimming! I brought my favorite ornaments-- fabric covered cardboard balls, with cut outs showing christmas scenes inside, and hand made bows to tie on the tree.
We have a tradition at my house that says the first snowfall is a special occasion-- we make a huge pot of spaghetti sauce (homemade, of course) and have an old fashioned spaghetti dinner, with bread, salad, and wine (or Pepsi for the non-drinkers),and canoli for desert. That said, I am off to the kitchen to put the water on to boil for the noodles. The sauce has already cooked for several hours, and everything else is ready, so dinner in about an hour, folks!
ChaoticDreamer -- chaotically skating
towards brothermoser, ACK! Just fell down for about the
fifth time and I've only gone two feet. *dusting off her permentantly frozen posterior* *skate, skaaaaaate-Boom*
Dang, ya know, the problem is I've got tiny, useless ankles and well, So. Californians don't have ice and snow in our natural environment. How about you push me over towards that hot cocoa?
Thanx, man it's beauitful up here. :)*gives bromo a kiss for bringing it too us*
Chaotically Blissfull Dreamer *curling up with her hands wrapped around a steaming UCSanta Cruz Slug mug, listening to all the friendly banter* ahhhh, life is good.
mouse in the lab -- Well, the popcorn is done
and only half are burnt! Oh well, they are mine. I found some thread and a needle in my little sewing kit, so I'll start making the popcorn garland. Anyone want to lend me a hand? But remember, I only made so much popcorn, and dinner will be ready soon - Juno24 made it sound GREAT!!!
Mouse starts threading popcorn through the needle - darn, that one broke, have to start again...
brothermoser -- I’ll help you mouse-in-the-lab
Brother Moser helps mouse string popcorn. He puts two pieces in his mouth and too each one on the string.
Mouse: "Hey, that popcorn is for decorating the tree"
BroMo: "Sorry, I'm hungry after that free-for-all outside. I'll be good. Hey juno when's that food going to be done?"
RagnarRB -- Hi gang, got your note
Ragnar says as he opens the lodge door and steps in.
Taking a moment to set a big jug of eggnog down, he stomps his feet to get the snow off and removes his coat."Ah its a bit chilly out there." He hangs up the coat and turns back around. Seems a bit quiet.
Brothermoser is wearing one of his tried and true grins and Mouse is glaring at him. "Mouse? Didn't I just see you? I mean we'ren't you...out..." Ragnar looks over his shoulder and back at Mouse.
"You know, in a hole, snow,...with artic..." Hmmm.Ragnar paused, beginning to feel her constenateing look.
"Must be too much PUNCH." Ragnar mumbles thinking of a standard answer. Mouse's glare sinks in.
He looks around. Coat's hung up, eggnogs here, he still...his eyes fall to the floor. Oh. He's surrounded in wet muckly snow. He grins sheepishly.
"Uh sorry about that....been a barbarian too long I guess." Mouse shook her head and smiled. "But I'll clean it right up." Ragnar ended looking for a mop or broom.
"In the corner." BroMo offers.
"Thanks Bro...is that spagetti I smell cooking..."
brothermoser -- Note from BroMO:
"Gone to find the others. I hope we make it back for dinner.
Juno, if we don't get back in time, start without us. To the new arrivals, Enjoy!"
