Language And Definitions

Some of these terms have been used throughout the adventures, some have not (but they are interesting).

All of these terms have been borrowed from the "farscape" bboard, post #53 Farscape Language and Terms (www.scifi.com/bboard/browse.cgi/1/5/1373/53) and it's post reply #1 Nerve Vocabulary by truthseekr. Arn - A measurement of time similar to an hour in its increments. [Premiere]

Chakan Oil - Explosive Liquid synthesized from the "Tannot root." It is used to fuel PK weapons and ships. [Thank God it's Friday Again] (***)

Cycle - A measurement of time similar to an earth year in its increments. [Premiere]

Fahrbot - Rygel, about Zhaan's strange behavior - "She's gone completely fahrbot!" [Til the Blood Runs Clear]

Frell - Expletive which means F**K (e.g. "Frell you" or "Get the Frell away from there"). [DNA Mad Scientist]

Food Cube - Cheap food that is universally edible developed by the Peacekeepers to serve their prison communities. [Premiere] (***)

Intense heat - What Sebaceans dislike more than anything else. [Durka Returns]

Leviathans - Moya's species. They are "living" bio-mechanoid ships often captured by Peacekeepers and used as transportation vehicles. They have no offensive capabilities but do have the "defensive" ability to "Starburst." [Premiere]

Magra Fahrbot - Really Fahrbot. Rygel says to Crichton, "You're not just Fahrbot, you're Magra Fahrbot." [Nerve]

Mellett - Undesirable food (presumably like liver). Rygel asks "What am I chopped Mellet," to which Zhann replies, "I can stomach Mellet." [DNA Mad Scientist]

Metra - A unit of distance measurement similar to a kilometer. [I, ET]

Microt - Measurement of time; little more than a second. 3 microts = 4 seconds (In "The Flax" Crichton said "180 Microns = 4 minutes"). [PK Tech Girl]

Nano Moment - Basically "every second" or "every thought." [The Flax]

Nurfer - Peacekeeper derogatory slang, roughly meaning "Dork", "geek", or "idiot." [Through the Looking Glass]

Occulars - PK version of binoculars except they actually amplify the power of the lens in one's own eyeballs. They look like a head set and according to Crichton, increase his vision from 20/20 to 200/20 when we puts Aeryn's set on. [Throne for a Loss] (***)

Peacekeepers - PK for short, the Sebacean military force, hired to maintain order. [Premiere]

Phelep Nectar - Similar to beer. It comes from a creature called a Phelep that lives on Tarsus. [A Human Reaction]

Prowlers - Black mass-produced basic battle fighter in the PK attack force. They are similar in size to Crichton's Farscape 1 but are faster and more agile. The cockpit is built to hold one pilot but can seat two uncomfortably. Aeryn Sun's prowler is the only large-scale weapon at the crew's disposal. [Premiere] (***)

Profacto - Expletive used by Rygel meaning S.O.B. (e.g. "You lucky Profacto"). [A Human Reaction]

Pulse Rifle - PK weapon, fueled by Chakan oil. It can overload & explode if not used correctly. [Premiere] (***)

Qualta Blade - Luxan sword which is about three and a half feet long and also converts into an energy rifle. [Premiere]

Raslack - A bar drink. Chiana says the "Raslack is good and strong...strong and hot makes the mouth tingle" [Nerve]

Sebaceans - Aeryn Sun's species. They are genetically similar to Humans and Skykarians but they have a weakness to heat which will cause them to suffer the "Living Death." Not all Sebaceans are Peace Keepers, but all Peace Keepers are Sebacean. Sebaceans who are not Peacekeepers primarily pursue farming and commerce activities. [Premiere] (***)

Starburst - The seam between space-time dimensions. Moya's power cells allow access until she is pushed out, allowed her to travel vast distances in minimal time. It is the single defensive capability of a Leviathan. [Premiere]

Tannot Root - The source of Chakan oil, grown primarily on Skykar. It is toxic to some lifeforms (Hynerians) when ingested while to other lifeforms it induces a psychological brainwashing effect. [Thank God it's Friday Again] (***)

Tardac - A game of skill which includes betting, bluffing, and trying to outwit the opponent. Rygel is especially skilled at playing the game. [The Flax]

Trads - Unit of power (e.g. 200 trads = 80% of Moya's transport pods' capability). [The Flax]

Yotz - Expletive used primarily by Rygel (e.g. "What the Yotz is that?"). [DNA Mad Scientist]

Zacron - A unit of distance measurement "The Flax is a magnedrift mesh 75 million zacrons long." [The Flax]

Emoticons are Emotional icons that are faces made with the odd characters on the keyboard. If you tilt your head to

the left you may be able to see them better. They are also called Smileys.
