Ayla Masaki | Abigail Cooper White | Masato Martin
Ayla Masaki
Born July 29, 2000 around 7:00 pm on a Saturday evening during a rather magnificent sunset according to certain reports. This birthdate makes her a Leo born in the year of the Dragon. Quite auspicious....
The name
Ayla taken from Hebrew. This name comes from a female version of the word Gawd (God). It means Terebinth Tree or Oak Tree. A terebinth tree is apparently a tree that lives a loooong time in unihabitable areas. In Turkish Ayla means Moonlight.
Masaki taken from Japanese. Masa is taken from her grandfather's name, Masahiko, and means 'elegant.' Aki is taken from a grandmother's name, Akiko, and means 'Dawn.' Yes, I know she was born in the evening, but I kind of had the name picked out already. I put these two pieces together and Masaki was born. Sure, if I put the two pieces together properly, her name should have been 'Masaaki,' but I figure no one would be able to pronounce it, and having an unpronouncable name makes for an awkward first day of school. There's nothing more encouraging than a teacher that comes to your name during the first attendance and says,"I'm not even going to try and pronounce that."
Bio
Well, she's just a baby, so she hasn't done a whole lot of what we might consider "things." She has gone backpacking at 12,000 feet and is currently living in Japan. These days she spends a lot of time with her father...going to the park, hanging out, running from him when he tries to feed her real food. Some of her favorite pastimes would probably be breastfeeding, watching 'Okaasan to Issho,' and moving to music. Currently she likes to peel oranges, and feed them to you, and climb whatever she can.
