Uygur Women Costume

It is a pleasure to see the bright and contrasting color of the traditional Central Asian costume. A good example is the Uygur traditional women costume, which is illustrated below.

The Hair
Like in many other cultures, the Uygur women placed attention to their hair. Girls and unmarried women wear their hair in long braids, sometimes numbering more than a dozen. After their marriage, only two are worn.

The Hat
The Uygurs, no matter men or women, love to wear a 4-cornered embroidered cap. Different designs make these hats a welcoming gift from the region.
In addition, women wear numerous earrings, bracelets, and necklaces.
