BUNDABERG
A little about Bundaberg......... The Town situated between Brisbane and Rockhampton Wide Bay Burnett Region in South East Queensland. Bundaberg is mainly Sugar Cane and Small Crops also the Famous Bundaberg Rum. Bundaberg has the largest number of commercial fisherman of any port in Queensland. Bundaberg is also a popular first port call for many overseas yachts, with 3 marina's and many private Jetties. The Boats are well spread along the Burnett River. We are about 13klms from the coast, the population is about 42,000 people and growing fast. Sit back and we will take a tour of where we used to live......

So here we go starting with a nice
beach scene near Bundaberg, some beaches on the outskirts of bundaberg are usually
deserted and go for miles and miles. Then you have the ones close by 13 klms away
which we will see. The main attraction at one particular beach MON REPOS is the
Loggerhead Turtles, they come up the beach to lay their eggs. Laying about 100 eggs.
Then they go back to the sea and return again between September and January and do
it all again.

Here is Burt Hinkler House
Re-Located now at Hinkler Rose Gardens North
Bundaberg. Bert Hinkler House was pulled down in England piece by piece and shipped to
Bundaberg his birth place and re-constructed at Hinkler Rose Gardens where it is now a
huge tourist attraction. The people of Bundaberg and the Local City Council got
together for this mammoth task. Bert Hinkler was Australia's favourite son,
