The Addams Family features the exploits of Tully
Alford as he traverses the many and varied traps and surprises of
the Addams home as he tries to find the elusive Addams treasure vault. The game is a prime example of movie cash-in fever, though we are lucky to get such a thing on the PCE/TG. Though as a movie title it is not too bad, with speech, some good stills, and a genuine feeling of being involved in the plot : unfortunatly, as a platform game, it is not the best. For a start, the control of Tully is quite strange; the jump button sending him soaring into the air. The control of the character during the jump also leaves something to be desired. The gameplay is very basic, there is not much more to do than run jump and shoot; it is most definately a game for the younger player. Sometimes the difficulty level can be quite awkward; you can be racing through the game, when you will come to a point which is just frustrating, there is no definate learning curve to the game. If you liked the Addams Family films, then it could be a worthwhile purchase, though it is not a must buy. See the Turbo mailing list review. |
