What the HECK is emulation?
Well, in a nutshell, emulation is running the software from the peice of hardware such as a computer or video game system on a different peice of hardware. This is done many different ways, and as i've been with emulation a while the programming aspects are very interesting to me. Anyway, there are some grey areas and legal aspects to emulation that i won't go into, but because of those, i do NOT have any rom images or "roms" on this site. Sorry leeches. Anyway, only the emus!
SNES Emulation | ||||||||||||||||||||
Wow, this takes me back (well, only a year or 2, but this was fun stuff). Super Nintendo emulation got me into the whole scene and has kept me there since. I absolutely love the system and still play it whenever i get the chance. The idea of playing Snes games on my pc really amazed me (and still does). Since the time of Snes97 and other projects that have amalgamated or been squashed the emulation of this great system has gotten really accurate. Well, enough of my blabber. Onto the emulators! ZSNES - A definite download. As close to the real thing with your PC. SNES9X - Download if you want to compare. Not as fast as ZSNES, but a great open source emulator.
