BCC-Hydro Texaco project                                                                         09/1999 – current time

• BCC – Hydro Texaco (HT) project coordinator, project manager, software developer.  Hydro Texaco is one of the leading oil companies in Scandinavia and the Baltic states.
• As card project coordinator responsibilities include managing and coordinating BCC-HT payment cards projects. MS Project 98, MS Outlook are used for project estimates (resources, expenses, timelines, tasks tracking etc.)
• As project manager led and leads the following projects :

• Europay International / VISA International certification of CAT (Cardholder Activated Terminals) acquiring. Bank acquirer –Vilniaus Bank, Lithuania. Actions preformed – negotiations with Lithuanian Bank on clearing, online procedures, data exchange (using PGP for Windows); preparing BCC authorization and clearing systems for the certification process; negotiations with Europay & VISA on Implementation Projects, certification process. Has performed online Europay certification part (business trip to Lithuania at 12^th October, 2000), coordinated clearing part of certification. Has written SHELL scripts & SQL for this particular project. These scripts are used for analyzing test transactions information and defining the system readiness for certification and online processing. With implementation of this project Hydro Texaco - Lithuania is able to accept International banking cards in automated fuel stations. Prepared BCC authorization and clearing systems for VISA CAT transactions processing. VISA project is now at the stage of terminals (produced by ASPO Systems, Finland) certification.

• Project Manager of BCC – Hydro Poland project. The project includes full services scope of Hydro Poland private label cards and automated terminals – producing cards, PIN codes, clearing services, authorizations, receiving/proceeding batches, customer service, reports, customers invoices (credit customers)/statements (debit customers), proceeding customers payments to their Hydro Poland accounts, handling scope of different bonus/rebate schemes etc. Actions performed – managing and coordinating of all mentioned services set-up, tests, authorization and clearing systems set-up, negotiations with involved parties (Hydro Poland, Hydro Sweden, Hydro Texaco, ASPO Systems, TCPA – Polish telecommunication provider etc.). Project now is in the pilot phase – first cards made at 30^th October 2000, first transaction with HP card made at November 1^st, first transaction made with HP card in HP terminal (Walcz, Poland) at November 9^th.

• Member at the start of the project, Project Manager since June 2000 of “Hydro Texaco – BCC Internet project” (went live at the end of August 2000 – www.hydrotexaco.lv, www.hydrotexaco.lt, www.hydrotexaco.ee, www.uno-x.lv, www.uno-x.lt, www.uno-x.ee ). Responsibilities include designing of HTML pages (using 1^st Page 2000 software package); negotiations with Hydro Texaco on web site view and content; managing the project part of customers database (cards data, statements, invoices); testing the customers database (program is developed by BCC ISP Neonet company – using MySQL). This is the 1^st Internet project of fuel company in Latvia with customers access to database in Internet.
• DKV (German craft company) credit private label cards acceptance in HT fuel stations. This project implementation allowed Hydro Texaco to increase the turnover in automated stations as DKV has issued about 500,000 credit cards in Europe. Actions preformed – negotiations with DKV on the cards acceptance scheme, DKV blacklist transmission, DKV cards PIN codes verification, data exchange (using PGP for Windows), clearing procedures (business trip to Dusseldorf at 11/1999), etc.; negotiations with ASPO System (Finnish company – manufacturer of HT automated terminals) on technical solution of DKV cards acceptance; designing the solution of transmitting of packed blacklist (that allowed to reduce communication costs), modification of X.25 batch server program for the purpose of packed blacklist transmission (programming has been performed in TurboPascal).
• Project Manager of VeriFone terminals software development for HT-Latvia and HT-Estonia particular needs. Actions preformed – designing the technical solution (VISA2 data capture protocol modification); negotiations with Hydro Texaco and Point Ltd. (VeriFone official distributor in Latvia) on the services requested and way of technical implementation; writing the documentation of designed modules; managing BCC authorization, clearing and batch systems set-up. Project went live at June 2000 and allowed Hydro Texaco to accept payment cards (and transmit to BCC all additional transactions data) at stations without automated terminals. This increased Hydro Texaco Baltic turnover and added value to HT private label cards by introducing new places of cards acceptance.
• Project Manager of direct debit service implementation for Hydro Texaco - Latvia customers. Project is planned to be implemented together with Latvian Payment Center and Hydro Texaco – Latvia. With implementation of this service HT-Latvia customers will be able to pay to their accounts in Hydro Texaco directly from their bank accounts (4 banks participate in this scheme, 3 of them are among the biggest retail banks in Latvia) automatically – just applying for the service once. This value-added service will allow HT-Latvia to get new customers.
• Project Manager of implementation of value-added services for Hydro Texaco Baltic cards. Value-added services are customers payments to their HT accounts trough bank automates, allowing customer to see their available balances in automated fuel terminals etc.
• Hydro Sweden credit private label cards acceptance in HT automated terminals. Responsibilities are similar to DKV project (see above). Project currently frozen until involved parts will reach the agreement.
• As software developer
• has finished (other BCC employee started to write the program, but quit) the program “X.25 batch server” for receiving batch-reports from automated terminal on X.25 and sending blacklists to them (programming in TurboPascal). The program allows transmitting of special data for Hydro Texaco cardholders (such as fuel volume, mileage, car number, driver number etc.). This data is presented in customers’ statements/invoices that makes HT cards more attractive and convenient comparing to competitors (Neste, Statoil, Shell etc.) payment cards.
• has modified “X.25 batch server” for the purpose of packed blacklist transmission. This modification allowed to reduce communication costs and transmit long blacklists to the terminals (therefore – to cut fraud possibilities)
• has written SHELL scripts & SQL for monitoring the status of HT automated terminals functioning (monitoring is performed by BCC authorization operators on a regular basis); for analyzing (getting, comparing) the information of Y2K test sessions (see Y2K project)

Internet acquiring (e-commerce) project                                                                    currently running

·        As BCC Project Manager leads BCC Internet acquiring project (is planned to go live at the beginning of 2001)

·       Organizational steps include negotiations with banks about the schemes of Internet acquiring implementation; defining the international rules (VISA International, Europay International) of acquiring Internet merchants transactions; managing BCC authorization and clearing systems set-up for Internet transactions acquiring, organizing certification tests.

·         By the implementation of this project Baltic Card Center plans to increase merchants transactions turnover and subsequent revenues and expand its services scope for banks-customers.

 Europay POS acquiring project for Latvian Mortgage and Land Bank                                  11-12/2000

·         As BCC Project Manager / Authorization Department Manager leads Eurocard/Mastercard and Maestro issuing, POS (merchant and bank branches) and ATM acquiring (in 2 currencies) project online part for Latvian Mortgage and Land Bank.

·         Organizational steps will include negotiations with banks, POS/ATM servicing companies, Europay International on certification process.

·         Has written SHELL scripts & SQL for this particular project. These scripts are used for analyzing test transactions information and defining the system readiness for certification and online processing.

·         By this project Baltic Card Center gets new bank-customer and certified ATM acquiring in USD thus adding one more significant service to BCC customers.

Implementation of Saules Bank online Card Management System                                10/2000

·         As BCC Project Manager coordinated BCC activities in the Saules Bank online Card Management System implementation.

·         Organizational steps included coordination of BCC authorization and clearing systems set-up for Saules Bank online Card Management System implementation.

·         The project allowed Saules Bank to combine their bank and card systems.

Implementation of SMARTNET-50 system                                                                            09/2000

·         As BCC Project Manager managed the implementation of SMARTNET-50 system for Latvian Savings Bank.

·         Organizational steps included negotiations with Point Ltd. company and managing the system set-up, tests and online processing.

·         The implementation of SMARTNET-50 system allowed reducing transactions time from 20 to 10 seconds (on simple dial-up line) that gave the possibility for Savings Bank to use this feature in marketing campaign and increase monthly number of signed merchants approximately by 50%.

POS USD Acquiring project for Latvian Savings Bank                                                           06/2000

·         As BCC Project Manager managed USD Acquiring project for Latvian Savings Bank.

·         Organizational steps included negotiations with bank on the services requested, defining the international rules (VISA International, Europay International) of acquiring transactions in non-domestic currencies, managing BCC authorization and clearing systems set-up for USD transactions acquiring, organizing certification tests (Europay, VISA, local hosts transactions), participation in negotiating with local banks on the clearing schemes.

·         Has written SHELL scripts & SQL for this particular project. These scripts are used for analyzing test transactions information and defining the system readiness for certification and online processing.

·         Project allowed Latvian Savings Bank to acquire transactions in their merchants in branches in USD that increased turnover and allowed Latvian Savings Bank to get new customers by offering them this additional service.

Europay POS acquiring projects for Ogres Commerce Bank and Maras Bank                       02/2000

·         As BCC POS Department Manager managed POS acquiring projects online part for Ogres Commerce Bank and Maras Bank (successfully certified, therefore – expanded their card business with the possibility to make profit by signing the contracts with merchants on Eurocard/MasterCard/Maestro card acceptance)

·         Organizational steps included negotiations with banks, POS servicing companies, Europay International on certification process.

·         Has written SHELL scripts & SQL for these particular projects. These scripts are used for analyzing test transactions information and defining the system readiness for certification and online processing.

·         Modified the program of splitting batch files for different banks (see in POS Europay Acquiring project for Latvian Savings Bank). Modification allowed to process financial transactions received on the time of processing, not before 23:59 as it was earlier. As a result merchants not satisfied with the former procedure after program implementation receive money 1 day faster (programming in TurboPascal). This feature also allowed BCC banks-customers to sign new merchants thus increasing the turnover of acquired transactions.

Y2K tests                                                                                                          05/1999 – 01/2000

·         As BCC POS Department Manager participated in all stages of complete BCC POS tests on Year2000 readiness.

·         Has written complete tests documentation (MS Word 97) in 2 languages (English & Latvian). Documentation included test plan, test specification, test log and test results stages. Documentation has been distributed to BCC customers (banks and Hydro Texaco) with the confirmation of BCC POS terminals system Y2K readiness.

·         Performed more than 100 test sessions with 8 POS models, different card types, and terminal configurations.

·         Has written SHELL scripts & SQL for analyzing (getting, comparing) the information of Y2K test sessions.

 Europay POS acquiring project for Latvian Savings Bank                                                                11/1999

·         As BCC POS Department Manager managed POS acquiring projects online part for Latvian Savings Bank (successfully certified, therefore – expanded their card business with the possibility to make profit by signing the contracts with merchants on Eurocard/MasterCard/Maestro card acceptance)

·         Organizational steps included negotiations with banks, POS servicing companies, Europay International on certification process.

·         Developed the program (in TurboPascal) for splitting the batch file of all merchants into different files for particular acquirers. Program development became necessary because of several BCC banks-customers started to use batch reports since this project.

Secure data transmission project for BCC banks-customers                                                           09/1999

·         As Authorization System Senior Specialist developed the program of secure data transmission from BCC to BCC banks-customers. Program development became necessary after BCC moved to new premises and bank security specialists have lost access to BCC authorization system.

·         First program version has been written using PGP for DOS software package. DOS batch files were used for automatic getting data from authorization system, encrypting it using PGP commands and sending to banks using DOS e-mail programs. SHELL scripts & SQL were used in authorization system to select and prepare the necessary data. Scripts were launched automatically using AIX 3.2.5 crontab feature.

·         Second program version has been written using PGP for UNIX that allowed omitting the stage of “getting data from authorization system”. Secure data prepared using SHELL scripts & SQL were transmitted to banks directly from AIX 3.2.5 by internal mail program.

Authorization System users interface                                                                               02/1998 – 05/1998

·         Improved, structured, developed and documented the software in SHELL scripts & SQL (started by other BCC employees) that allows the authorization system users to perform their duties (bachelor work “Structure analysis of payment card authorization system. Technical and informational support”)

·         Designing of project became necessary as BCC authorization system staff increased.  Need of restricting different specialists access to authorization system appeared. Also performing of daily tasks needed to be optimized.

·         As AIX administrator set the according access rights to users in order to restrict users access only to the necessary data. Users tasks scope (menu) is defined in their AIX start profiles. Tasks are performed by SHELL scripts & SQL according to the user choice in menu. Participated in the definition of users access to databases (BCC Oracle DBA restricts access to Oracle databases).

·         12 BCC authorization system specialists currently use this interface.

Access program for tracking correspondence                                                                               11/1997

·         As Authorization System Specialist developed the program in MS Access 97 for correspondence with IFS International, Europay International, VISA International, Nomad Software and other BCC organisations-partners.
