Medical Society, Mr. Vijayan a/l Manogran. Finally, the guest of honour,
Associate Professor Dr. Henry Rantai Gudum gave a speech on behalf of the
Dean, Professor Dr. Syed Hassan al- Mashoor, who could not attend that
night, before cutting the cake to officiate the grand launch of the UNIMAS Medical
Society. It was a gala event that lasted until 12.30am. There were
games such as the Coke Drinking Competition, Biscuit Eating Competition
and Arm Wrestling that involved both student and lecturers, as well as
many lucky draws that ended up with winners walking away with great prizes
provided by sponsors. There were also four performances from the Year 2
students that brought a great round of applause from the audience. There also were contests for the Best Dressed People (male
and female), Joker of the Year, Chatterbox of the Year, Bookworm Award,
Doogie Howser M.D. Award and the last but definitely not the least, Mr.
and Miss FMHS. In between all these activities, there were aspiring singers
from both students as well as lecturers that came up to the stage to sing
karaoke. Students were seen mingling around freely with lecturers sharing
a joke or two in a very relaxed atmosphere. Finally, it was time for the students and some lecturers
to let their hair down and burn the dance floors. It was great to see them
strytting their stuff on the floor- especially the lecturers. However,
all good things had to come to an end, and as everyone started leaving,
many new that it was a night worth remembering and looking forward to in
the future. It was a start, and it will never stop.........
