TENCHI
Tenchi Misaki is the main character of Tenchi Muyo and Tenchi Universe. He's also in Tenchi in Tokyo and Tenchi Muyo in Love, a movie based on Muyo, I believe. He's one lucky guy; he has six beautiful girls living with him, all of them from other planets! Not to mention little Ryo-Ohki!
MUYO
As far as I know, Tenchi is a 17-year-old student at a nearby school in a nearby city. But during the summers, he goes out to visit his Grandfather near the Masaki Shrine, where an ancient goblin over 700 years old had been captured and imprisoned (in Muyo, Ryoko was the demon, in Universe, is was Washuu). Tenchi broke the seal inside the shrine, releasing Ryoko in Muyo. In Universe, Ryoko broke Washuu from her imprisonment. Tenchi later had visits from Aeka and Sasami Jurai, princesses of the far-away planet of Jurai. Aeka and Ryoko immediately fight for Tenchi's love. Ryoko gives birth to Ryo-Ohki, a strange rabbit-like creature with he ability to turn into a spacecraft, blaming the birth on Tenchi.
Later, Tenchi receives Mihoshi into the household. Mihoshi had been looking for Ryoko for a long time and finally crashed here on Tenchi's Grandfather's lands. Mihoshi was stranded.
Soon after Mihoshi, an evil being called Kagato came to take Ryoko back to being a space-pirate. Tenchi is supposedly killed in a space-battle later, but was saved by Sasami, who had released her ship, Tsunami, the most powerful Jurai Tree-Ship. Ryoko, Aeka, and Mihoshi try to stop Kagato on their own, but Mihoshi takes a wrong turn and accidentally awakens Washuu, who had been stashed about Kagato's ship inside a gigantic crystal. Tenchi appears after Washuu brings Aeka to safety. Ryoko and Tenchi fight against Kagato until Ryoko is taken by Washuu. Tenchi uses the Light Hawk Wings, in amazement by Washuu. Tenchi defeats Kagato, thus destroying the ship. Washuu believes Tenchi created Light Hawk Wings by himself, which had said to be impossible for one lone being.
Thus, Tenchi was stranded on Earth with Sasami, Aeka, Ryoko, Washuu, and Mihoshi, along with Ryo-Ohki.
UNIVERSE
Tenchi sees Ryoko and Mihoshi crash-land near his Grandfather's house. Ryoko tricks Tenchi into believing Mihoshi in her battle-suit is an evil space-pirate. Mihoshi then proves her wrong and Ryoko decides to play hide-n-seek with Tenchi and Mihoshi. The two of them are then announced as house-guests.
After Ryoko and Mihoshi are found as friends, Aeka stops by Earth after intercepting Mihoshi's distress signal to the other Galaxy Police. Aeka's ship is destroyed by Ryoko's ship, Ryo-Ohki. Sasami turns up with Aeka's trust-worthy assistants, Achika and Kamidaki (I believe their names are). Ryoko gives birth to Ryo-Ohki, her ship's offspring after being destroyed. Ryoko and Tenchi board Ryo-Ohki to help Mihoshi, Aeka, and Sasami out a ways to space. But Ryo-Ohki saw Sasami had a carrot and crashed into Sasami's ship, destroying it and sending everyone back to Earth.
But things were over yet. Ryoko takes Tenchi down into a cave that Tenchi's grandfather had told him was forbidden. Aeka, Mihoshi, and Sasami follow reluctantly. Ryoko and Aeka show off a little in a small battle inside a larger cavern inside the cave. Ryoko throws a huge green crystal at Aeka, setting free Washuu, the famous scientist. Washuu then turns Ryoko and Aeka into little platypus-like things after they mouthed off to her. So now, it's Tenchi, his father, his grandfather, Ryoko, Ryo-Ohki, Aeka, Sasami, Washuu, and Mihoshi.
But things still weren't over! Mihoshi's Galaxy Police partner, Kiyone, joined the ground whenever she was sent to find the rumored-to-be-dead Mihoshi. Kiyone finds Mihoshi and is ready to take her back, however unwanting to. Kiyone and Mihoshi then find that they are to captain Earth, since it has little Galaxy Police presence. So Kiyone and Mihoshi stay in Tenchi's wake.
All this happens to poor Tenchi. And Kiyone, Sasami, Washuu, Aeka, Mihoshi, and Ryoko all love Tenchi as much as they care to, but each other (especially Ryoko and Aeka) don't want the others to have Tenchi. 26 Episodes happen in Tenchi: Universe, but I'm only on like...episode 7 or 8, so bear with me. ^_~
