Paid to Read Email programsThese programs involve you receiving advertisement emails. In some cases you must open the message and accept a cookie (yumm), and in other cases you simply have to receive the email, but not actually read it. And, still in other cases, you have to click a link or reply to the message. These programs vary greatly.
Personal Request: If you apply from this page, please email me know so I can track your progress with any of these programs. I need referral feedback to improve my reviews of these sites. I may also be able to help you with problems, or your own referrals if you choose to do all the effort like this. |
First, the minimum payout is $100. They claim it is due to expenses, but then how do all others pay at much lower levels? This program is different, and the description on their website is a little less clear than others. Basically you become a member of their community. This is not a banner-window program, but a email-reading program. You receive credit for email being read, by you and your referrals. This type of program does not require you to be online all the time, and get paid by the hour; you only need open email, and wait until the tag is loaded. The paid to read email program is in partnership with Yes Mail.
In September 1999 they initiated a true MLM scheme. This is a concern because some MLM programs are simply scams for those on the top of the pyramid. Basically, your basic membership becomes a plus-membership after you pay $40 (plus service charges if applicable). For this, you get $10 for each referral that also pays the $40 (the true MLM scheme) and then $2 for each additional referral. You also get improved downline commission and other perks. If you are a serious MLM/Downline invester, than this may be good for you. If you are interested in these programs to make the money from your own efforts online, then the regular membership is for you.
The member area is adequate. However, if you need to update your information you may experience problems. It is not explained that the username must be at least 7 characters, as well as the password. No verification is made so you know the password changed when you push the "update profile" button. So don't forget your old one and test the new one before you go away. If you change your email address, you will be given a new set of login codes. I don't know why because they don't do anything, and your old information will be kept in your account. But you will now have two email addresses attached to your account.
SUMMARY:
The YesMail system works at the reading end adequately. The member area is a little less user friendly, but it does provide necessary functions. For a paid-to-read-email program, it is not bad.
Still one of the newer programs in this area. It is quite a simple system, you allow them to send you email advertisements and you are paid a commission for receiving them. You receive 5 cents per email, and 2 cents for referrals. So that's how I make money from your participation, I ask you join using the link below, and credit me for the effort reviewing this site and letting you know about it.
Advertising is the largest industry on the internet. On many sites you have seen banner ads, and even sites tricking you into clicking on an advertiser's link. With this program, you only receive emails of categories you are interested in, and you are paid for it. Get something back from the time you spend online. This program does not require you to spend time online surfing as do the others above, so your time involved in this program is significantly less.
You receive up to 50 cents for each money-code returned when you read email. The "code" you have to find in the email, and is must be returned within the specified month or period for you to receive credit, but this is the same in all paid to read email programs. They note on their signup page that the "Advertisers will decide if you or your downlines are aligible to read their paid email or not." I assume this means they decide who to send email to, and not that they have the control to cancel your account. They do not expand further. You can sign up for an email account with them, so as not to fill up your personal email box.
This program is available world-wide! No matter who or where you are, you can join this one. USA addresses are paid when their account is $10.00, and foreign addresses at $30.00. Not bad, considering some programs pay only at $20, $50 or in one case I saw $100!
September 27, 1999 site became inactive, no notice was given! But it returned some time later, and seems to have remained active since. Unfortunately, the application area is still not active, and thus you cannot join. The site has been semi-functional since September 1999 (to Dec 22, 1999)
In late 2000 they reopened, but deleted all user accounts and began over with a new system.
Domain is inactive, since mid 2000.
You enter your email address into a database for them to send you advertisement email. They state payments range from 20 cents to $2.50 per email. You also get credit for emails your referrals respond to. Every email you receive will have a verification link which you must click on to validate the credit and payment for that message. They recently partnered with My Own Empire, which is a general paid-to program.
My first few attempts at the application form failed in server-timeouts at their end, but that seems to be fixed for the moment. May have been bust when I was visiting, and only means they are growing! The affiliate program pays $1.75 per referral who joins the email program. It is managed thru Commission-Junction, and was down January 20 when I last checked. You can still join the Paid to Read Email program - which in theory should allow you to refer others anyway. When you do join, you have to use a unique SSN, and if you're non-us, then you will have to make up a number noone else has - I suggest starting with 0's or 1's.
UPDATE: This company quit all operations without notice some time in early 2000.
I am concerned about the quality of this organization. Their website URL is not related to the business name like most other programs. Their homesite has no membership area, no contact information for members, and little information in general. Once you apply, you receive a member code, and no further contact is made (so far). They do not state what exactly they propose to do - they suggest it is a click-thru program where you can earn 50 cents for yourself, and 5-10 cents for referrals. Their minimum payout is $10, which is quite good for the industry.
I have revisited the site many times, and cannot update my review - sorry. If you wish to join, please do read through the information provided on their site. If you see anything with more detail, please contact me. They may have finally updated their site, and/or created a members area.
SUMMARY:
Theie site has not been updated since Sept 1999 (4 months!) and thus it seems likely this was another scam to collect email addresses or something else. Maybe it is real, but it seems unlikely to me.
According to their banner, you can be paid up to $900 per year for receiving email from them. I guess this was not true, since their domain is now non-existent! I find my comments below appropriate when written over a year ago "I seriously doubt the validity of this organization."
Please note that you have the option of using a secure SSL form to join, but this option is at the bottom of the standard signup form, click on that before you complete the form (if you wish). Once you have signed up for you selected number of emails per day (1, 10, 25, 50, 1000...) you can begin your income. There are no affiliate rewards in this program, and they do not state how many emails they expect to be able to send to you.
There does not seem to be a members' area to check your stats, and you can only update your snail mail address. It seems that your email address is fixed for the time being. I don't know if this program is real or not, it is difficult to determine since the site is so ambiguous and chronically lacking in customer support.
Between October 1999 and May 2000 there have been no changes or significant updates to their program, no supporting email to members, no members area has been created. No news on the site, nothing! I seriously doubt the validity of this organization.
Yet another one that probably had no future no matter what happened! Bye bye I say.
Originally this was a email advertising system that paid you for clicking on interesting links, up to $2 per email they planned. However there were just not enough advertisers to react $2 each day, so they changed the system to a website with the ads. These ads pay per click, or pay per signup, or other promotional methods. USA only.
This is a new system, and in my opinion is merely a middleman for pay-per-click programs. Webmasters are able to join various pay-per-click and other income-programs as a promotional tool to those organizations. Surfers to their websites, according to world averages will click-thru about 1-10% of the time. The webmaster is paid for those 10% of visitors that go to those websites from their link. Generally these banners are included on a content site, but in this case it seems the content is simply banners. Since an individual cannot run a pay-per-click system, this organization is an alternative. My concern is with the payments, since they receive x per click, you will only be able to receive 1/2x - where x is usually a few cents per click. Joining AllAdvantage or other programs would skip this middleman, and save you for your time and effort. But, a program like this may be good once it gets going, you might want to try it anyway.
The member area leaves a lot to be desired. Different parts of their site are on different servers which certainly makes a smart consumer wonder if they are a real company. Why don't they have their own domain and servers? It took me 14 tries to load my member page, and 1-2 minutes for it to load when it finally did. Link banners are all listed in non-descript html files shown in a directory. No links to pages exist for members, you have to cut and paste and guess as to where to go and select. I would say this is one of the worst layouts I have ever seen in a corporate site, or any site for that matter.
NOTE: They deleted and started a new database & member management system Nov 11, so you may have to reapply if you were already a member. At the least, your user-id will change. If you and a friend are joining, you will not be able to do it on the same computer, it tracks your visits and denies future applications.
Get paid to read jokes! No joke! This organization will pay you and those you refer to read jokes daily. You receive points for referrals, and a few more points for their referrals.
You make money based on the company's profits each financial quarter, but your referrals are non-cumulative. Money is divided up among the members on a point-percentage basis. You receive your percentage of the total number of points in the program at each quarter. It's kind of like a dividend system in the stock market, with one significant drawback - you lose all your credits when you are paid. The more points (like shares) you have, the more cash you make, and then start all over again. When you read this information on the site, don't expect you will be making $500 as in their example. I find that value a little difficult to believe on a financially viable business level.
Minimum payment for each cheque is $25, and is carried over if you are below that. This program is available world-wide. A bonus for sure. However, it seems it is only in English at the moment. It was a little confusing on how they distribute profits, whether you have to sign up people 4 times a year to remain active, or to gain your fair share of the profits. I have asked for clarification. Sign up "for fun!"
I received additional information from them stating that each quarter all points for referrals are reset. You are only credited once for a referral, and only at the current % to profit rate at the time. You are still paid for your use of their system, receiving jokes (which is an amazing concept in itself!)
11. Zuper Mail [ November 6, 2000 ]
It's a credit for email use system. 5 points for receiving, 10 for responding to received emails. Points are valued on a scale, the more points you have, the more they are worth. They begin at 1/5 of a cent each, and will increase to one cent each after 100,000 points (that's less than 20,000 emails received :). You may cash your points in at any time, but the more the better for you.
Win a million points - if you register, and happen to be a US resident. While anyone can join this email system, you can only win the points in the sweepstakes if you're in the US, and 18 or older. The signup form, again was egocentrically developed, ignoring non-USA applicants. The zip code must be numerical only.
If you plan on promoting your id and referring others, don't use the id in the URL, the user id is not the same is your referral number. Send an email to yourself promoting your referral name and id, and check that email for your information. Perhaps there will be a better method soon on the website. Use the referral link I have below, and use your own referral number obtained from the email. Enjoy this one.
SUMMARY
Not a bad paid-email program overall. From what I have seen so far, I rate it at 8/10.
12. Spedia (Operational) [ December 1, 2000 ]
Spedia is a paid-to-surf program, but they also offer a paid-to-read-email program, and thus is listed again in this section. For details about Spedia in general, please return to the paid-to-surf area.
Basically, you are credited 5-10 credits for each email you receive with your general Spedia account. This is an opt-in program within the Spedia system, and you can begin or stop at any time.
13. Cash Magic [ November 12, 1999 ]
This organization is currently negotiating with SendMoreInfo.com to merge. Their operations are therefore suspended during this process, and their url has been forwarded to SendMoreInfo.
14. Extra Salary [ November 19, 1999 ]
This is both a paid-to-surf, and a paid-to-read-email program. You can join either or both if you choose.
This site will be reviewed in the near future.
15. Pay Mail @ UtopiAD (Operational for USA) [ December 5, 1999 ]
UtopiAD is a paid to surf program, but in December 1999 they initiated a pay to read advertisement program in addition to their current services. You receive an email every month or more, and are credited for it. Payment is based on a percentage of revenues.
16. Purchase Alert [ March 21, 2000 ]
This is an expansive advertizing network. You can be paid for receiving email, snail mail, faxes, pages and telephone calls. You are paid 5 cents up to $2.00 per event.
You are paid for your referrals to 4 levels, however it is unclear how much. Their site states 5 cents, however they claim this amount regardless of the value of the referree's services used.
Since joining in December 1999, I have received no emails, or other contact from them. It is therefore unclear whether they are currently operating or what is going on with them. Their site is still active.
17. Yes Mail @ All Community [ December 22, 1999 ]
Please see OTHER area. Info added soon.
18. Pay Bar Mail (Operational) [ December 31, 1999 ]
PayBar has partnered with an online email organization to bring you free email and a paid to read email program in one. This program is in addition to their paid-to-surf program, listed in the paid-surf area.
The PayBar paid to surf program is well established, and works well. At the moment, the paid email program is just starting, and I cannot say much about this specific program. I shall add more in January.
19. Resource A Day [ January 2, 2000 ]
This is a paid to read email information network. Quite simple. Pick the type of information you want in your email, and voila.
Details will be added in tomorrow's update.
