Search programs

These programs credit you for using their search engines. They may not be suited to all surfers, but the rewards can be just as good as well known, older search engines. One problem I will note regarding the old, and huge search engines is just that - they are old and big. You get so many duplicated pages and links, just as many old and out of date pages, and many pages are relocated or non-existent. It can be a pain. These newer programs hope to solve such problems, and simply by being new some of the problems are already gone. Look thru and see if there is something that catches your interest, and read on and visit the site.

1. Titan Search (CLOSED) [ January 10, 2001 ]

Domain non-existent since unknown date...

This is a search engine where you are paid 3 cents for each search you perform. You can claim up to $27 per month, 30 searches a day, 900 searches a month. They also have a lottery game online "Click n' Win" where you can win $250, and some other program that I cannot describe.

Since the application form only allows for the USA in the country field, I must conclude it is only available to US residents. However, since the application form was incomplete, and missing the entire conditions text, this may not be correct. Try your luck anyway. If you join the Click n' Win program, and application form allows for Canada and the USA, plus it seems complete. They really need to make this site professional and error-free if they want to be taken seriously!

It seems like you have to join twice, but you don't. I suggest using the Click n' Play application form since it is complete, and seems to work correctly. Don't use the New Member form, it's a mess.

NOTE: They now require a SSN or State DL# to confirm your identity. This policy was implemented in January 2000 in order to catch members who were reported to be cheating by creating multiple accounts.

It also seems that you can donate your earnings to a charity, however only one is listed currently.

The game - Click n' Play is just a advertiser's gateway. You have to click on a sponsor to play, and then you are taken to their site. Of course, you have a chance to win money.

They have an affiliate program, where you earn 4 cents every time someone searches from your site. This is separate from general membership. They have a image of a website with the search, however it is a terribly blurred image, and nearly illegible.

2. Search Traffic (CLOSED) [ April 19, 2001]

A Webmaster's Search Program, add search to your own site. (To be moved to Webmaster page soon) They pay 6 cents per click (as of April 2001)

3. Go Thru Us (CLOSED) [ March 22, 2001 ]

A search and pay-to-view ad program. You are paid a penny for every full-screen ad you view by clicking on links, or searching thru their site. You receive 1-10 cents per ad you view on the system. A bonus of $1 per referral is the current promotional deal during the initial expansion phase, plus 10% referral credit.

They have been quite slow at setting up memberships - it has been over two years since I joined, and still no access, nor reply from my emails. Since my original date joined they have made many changes, and it is stull unclear what they do, or if they really are a business. They do provide free email now, but what else I do not know.

One caution; payment to members is only made once you have accumulated $100 US in your account. This may be practical with the $1 referral fee for some members. However, at 1-10 pennies per ad, it will take you a very very long time to reach this minimum payment level! There is also a $3 cheque processing fee. Possibly the minimum will lower once the program grows to a reasonable size.

4. 4 Anything (CLOSED) [ December 16, 2000 ]

This is a novel way of searching for areas of interest. They have registered an infinite number of topical domain names, prefixed with "4" and ending in ".com", so all you have to do is go to "4whatever.com" to search. They have evaluated hundreds of sites for each topic, and listed the best 80 or so on these domains.

5. Click Thru Network (CLOSED) [ March 9, 2001]

Targeted searching based on your preferences is the goal of this organization. Your participation is important - you can vote for each site if you wish, and provide any feedback you choose. For each vote you gain another credit. You get credits for any site you visit. Credits can be traded in for cash and merchandise.

If you are a webmaster, you can add your site to the search manage them within the search system. It has survived years, and continues to be a viable organization.

6. Why Look Search (CLOSED) [ April 20, 2001 ]

A search engine that will share revenues with its members. It is committed to developing and maintaining a quick-search system for internet users, and seeks to become the most popular search engine on the internet.

The program is global, of course since the internet is global. However, during the initial development of the program, the payments structure is only setup for Canada and the USA. Worldwide expansion is expected soon, and you should join regarless of your geographic location. Balances over $20 US are paid monthly, in US funds.

They seem to be in continued operation since 1999, however the member area does not seem to work, and they have not yet responded to numerous inquiries.

7. Rocket Links (Gone) [ January 7, 2000 ]

The domain has slipped back to where it came - nowhere. I don't know when this one collapsed.

A search engine, currently promoting itself by rewarding credit to 9 levels of referrals starting at $0.25 each. Advertizers bid for placement, kind of like in the Yellow Pages. The more an advertizer pays, the higher their position on a search result.

Members using the search engine are paid per click-thru, and 6-referral levels. A minimum $25 balance is requires before payment is made. Since the program was started, referral levels have decreased from 9 to 6, and payment per click seems to have dropped also, but it is vague how much they will pay at the moment.

8. Color Stamps (NO LONGER PAID) [ August 24, 2000 ]
