PRAGUE - HIGH VIEWS

Staromesti Namesti Hello and welcome to Prague - the ancient middle-european city, capital of Czech Republic, center of Bohemian crystal industry, birthplace of Franz Kafka, stage for myriads of puppet shows, a place where Middle Age kabbalists created Holem and residence of a great hunter archduke Ferdinand (assassinated in Sarajevo) who was famous for killing around 300 000 animals... It's also a city of great beauty - and this was really what attracted me there.

This is the Our Lady at Tyn Church. It's located at the Old Town Square (Staromestske namesti), which is a center of Old Town (Stare Mesto). This square is a lot like Arbat Street in Moscow or Union Square in Boston, or Place de la Tertre in Paris. Musicians, cafes, souvenir shops and tourists are everywhere...

This is how the roofs look like from the top of the old City Hall building. Prague is red from above.

This is another view on the same buildings from the top of the Old City Hall. The three houses on the left look very nice from the ground (I wish my pictures were better!) Notice also little overpasses in the narrow street in the middle...

For 2 more pictures on the Old Town Square look here.

Another high point of view in Prague is the Prague Castle, Prazhsky Hrad, located above the city on the hill. It houses the Presidential Palace, magnificent St. Vitus's Cathedral and a beautiful park located along the walls of the castle.
This picture gives a panoramic view of it. On the front you see Charles Bridge across the Vltava river; the center of the background is dominated by the towers of the St.' Vitus's Cathedral. As you can guess this picture is taken from a postcard, since there was no snow in Prague this September. More pictures of Charles Bridge are here.

Here you can see the Prague Castle on the left as well as the towers of St. Vitus's Cathedral. The trees are the part of the park that stretches downhill along the walls of the Castle. For more photos of the Prague Castle please visit this page, for photos of St. Vitus's Cathedral go here.

I don't really know what's on this picture, it's also taken from the Prazhsky Hrad. This is just one of the typical views from there...

Yet another view. Looks like it's also from the Prague Castle.

This picture is taken from the castle that's located on another bank of Vltava. The castle is called Vyshehrad, Upper Castle. It's elevated high above the level of the surrounding buildings, and this is a view of them from one of the low walls...

A view of the park (Zahrada) on another side of the hill where the Prazhsky Hrad is located. It's a very beautiful and romantic place full of little restaurants and apple trees...
