-  SITUATION
The Molson Centre is situated in the heart of Montreal and is accessible through de la Gauchetière, de la Montagne, Saint-Antoine and Peel Street.  The nearest station is the Windsor Train Station, but also the Central Station is not too far away.  Those who prefer to take the bus and the underground can take line 2 (indicated in orange) with destinations Lucien-L'Allier and Bonaventure station.  By car you can get there by taking the auto routes 10, 20, 40; Champlain, Victoria, Jacques-Cartier and Mercier Bridges; Louis-H.-Lafontaine Tunnel.
-  CONSTRUCTION AND OPENING
 .
The construction of the utterly modern Molson Centre started on June 22, 1993.  On March 15 it was pre-opened with "The Raising of the Banners" and soon after this the solemn inauguration took place by a game between the New York Rangers versus Montréal on March 16 and a concert on Wednesday, April 10 by none other than our beloved Céline Dion!  Ever since the Molson Centre is being used for a varied fan of applications, going from being a hall where several sport events take place to being a preferred rendez-vous spot for many business meetings, receptions or concerts.  That's because there are many possibilities to convert the complex from the inside very quickly into the preferred dimensions.  During a hockey game, for instance, the Molson Centre can offer a seat to no less than 21,273 people and furthermore 4 other arrangements are possible:
..
- a full capacity offers space for 14,000 to 21,500 people
- when used as amphitheatre it can serve for 10,000 to
  14,000 seats
- when used as theatre 5,000 to 9,000 visitors can come
   and watch the show
- finally, when used as hemicycle it can contain 2,000
   to 4,000 persons
..

-  THE CONCERT
..
Céline's final performance of the millennium (as she won't be giving anymore concerts in 2000 - although the next century only starts on January 1, 2001) will be on December 31, 1999 at the Molson Centre where she will lead a sparkling show which will last for more than 4 hours beginning at 21h00 (local time) and going on until 1h00 after the transition into the year 2000.  After this she will be taking a break for at least 2 years, but with this last concert she first wants to spoil her friends, family and a crowd of fans from back home one more time while at the height of her career.  To accomplish this she has turned down without a second thought several tempting offers she got during these last months, among which one to present a mega end-of-the-year show in either Las Vegas, New York, Los Angeles or even Australia...
..
During this unique event guest performances are foreseen by other megastars of which Bryan Adams is probably the best known by the public.  Other names on the list are those of Bruno Pelletier, Daniel Lavoie and Garou and Luck Mervil of Notre-Dame-de-Paris who, under the artistic direction of Luc Plamondon, will be bringing solo and group versions of songs from this famous musical - some assisted by Céline singing along.  Furthermore there will be a guest performance by the humorist and imitator Stephane Rousseau who is expected to bring some of his characters into living action.  Main course is of course Céline herself: she will be singing the songs that have made her the most popular and best selling artist of all times together with some brand new material from her upcoming album "All The Way".  Also will be pointed out what Céline and René had to go through these last months.
