 Down the street trick or treaters go
 While pumpkins light up and glow.
 Black is the sky and gray is the street
 On your way a black cat you'll meet
 Genies, Superman, Batman and a lion
 On this day no kids are cryin'.
 Because you see this day is like no other
 We all come together and haunt one another.
 So maybe a witch a goblin or even a queen
 Come together on Halloween.

I've been dreamin' of a ghost and goblin',
of pumpkin faces and apple bobbin',
of soapy windows and eggs that splatter;
it's Halloween, so it should not matter.

Despite the things that I dreamt about;
we still masquerade and venture out
amidst the scary sights and creaking
for just one night of trick-or-treating.

When the masquerades are put away,
for another year they will stay
tucked away and out of sight
until the next Halloween night.

Why not wear something in its place;
a simple thing, like a happy face.
I don't believe it would be wrong,
if we wore it everyday, all year long!
