Hi, My Name is Debbie
and you are about to read about my day Meeting Next Of Kin. I
have to admit that I am not a massive fan - But after this day I
think Next Of Kin are great and have a lot of time for all the
fans. The day that I met them was Sunday 25th July 1999 at the
Milton Keynes Chill out. We arrived at about 9:30 am and
Collected our tickets from the box office (Us being me, My sister
Lisa and my best friend Anna). We knew that the doors didn’t
open to about 11am so we decided to walk around out side for a
while - Hoping to catch a glimpse of some one famous - which
sadly we didn’t. After about an hour we went to queue up -
and when the doors opened we were one of the first people in. We
took a walk around to see what was going on and then walked to
the (VERY SMALL) Stage. First up was a Unknown singer called
Jason - he was really good. I am not sure what time Next Of Kin
took the stage, but first on was Nathan, followed by Kieran and
then Lastly Mark. They sang a few songs and spoke to the audience
- I was nearest to Kieran and so got many smiles and waves. After
Next Of Kin Finished the set we decided to grab a Hamburger -
Just as we placed our order some one told us Next Of Kin were out
side meeting fans. Leaving our burgers me and Anna rushed over.
Just as we were at the front of the queue they said that they
couldn’t meet any more fans yet, But they would later. After
our burger we walked around and they said that Next Of Kin were
taking the stage again. So we ran over and managed to get front
row again. They sang the new single - I dont know what it was
called. They then came out to meet some fans again - We got an
autograph and I gave Nathan a Letter - Which he was pleased to
receive. They left again - and we discovered that they had gone
out side to the car. So we dashed across the hall and ran
outside. Lisa went and spoke to Mark while me and Anna had a
conversation with Kieran. After that Mark came up to me and Asked
to borrow my pen - of course I let him :) He signed an autograph
in my book - he actually put to Debbie and So did Nathan. Kieran
also Signed my book :) So I was pleased After that they said that
they were going back in again - So we decided to see who was
playing on the stage - As we turned the corner we saw the guys
again. Mark said "hi - We're Back" and laughed. I was
really pleased - They had security with them and we were told
that we couldn’t follow them So I (trying to be funny) said
that we were with them - Special Invited Guests - Anna joined in
saying that we had been invited up - Mark turned around and
laughed -They then went upstairs to a room where only Celebs were
allowed.. After a while we took a walk up stairs to see what was
going on - They were out side again and Kieran was opening
birthday Presents given to him by fans.. They then went back
inside - saying that they had to go soon. We were down stairs
again - Nathan walked past us - he recognised us and said hi..
Then Next of kin had to go - They made there way down stairs and
then out side to the car - we Followed them out and said bye and
stuff. After that - we went to see Skandal play - we met All of
them (expect James) after their set - See they did a signing just
like Next Of Kin. - then Just as they were leaving the building -
We screamed JAMMMESSS please sign this.. See he didnt have time
to earlier. The others laughed and the man with him said - well
seeing as its only you 3 go on then... Lisa had to hold his
bottle of water -The other 3 members walked off laughing - and
James signed our pictures.. Loads of things happened, I am sure I
have missed out some of the details. But it was a wicked day and
I had loads of fun!!
