Compared with The Moffatts, Next Of Kin are newcomers to the music biz. It was just over a year ago (October 8,
in fact) that the trio auditioned for their manager after he heard them mucking about in a music shop.

Essex boys

Nathan, Mark and Kieran grew up in Thelmsford, Essex, but recently relocated to Buckinghamshire. Their house “in the middle of nowhere” mnay be “a bit boring” according to Nathan, but it’s given them plenty of time to perfect the jangly guitar sound that’s set to shoot the brothers straight up the charts.

Underwear!

Since being spotted by their manager, the boys have had one heck of a time. They’ve signed a mega-bucks record
deal, had fans camping outside their house, and brought a bit of rock’n’roll behaviour to the Smash Hits Tour
(from the fans, anyway). “We had knickers thrown at us on stage!” squeals Kieran. “And I got too close to the audience and they nearly pulled me off the stage!” adds Mark.

Are they the new Hanson?

“We’re nothing like Hanson!” shouts Kieran. Fair enuff!
