Service Friendly Design

Breece Hill libraries are designed with serviceability in mind. All tape drives and electronic assemblies can be easily and quickly accessed from the back of the library. With a screwdriver and minimal time invested drives as well as other electronic components can be exchanged by the customer. The innovative implementation of customer replaceable units in the Q Series libraries, combined with the new QwikSwap parts delivery program establish Breece Hill as an industry forerunner in user-friendly hardware.
 
Quality

Breece Hill libraries are designed to withstand the rigors of storage management. Our extensive testing indicates a 12.5-year mean time between failures. Drives are vigorously tested to >100,000 load/unload cycles before integration into the library. Well designed, well tested hardware and extraordinarily intelligent calibration and data cartridge handling features give the Q Series an indisputable edge in quality and reliability.

Automatic Laser Re-Calibration

A patented positioning system, LaZerCaL, uses a precise laser beam to eliminate calibration errors that could result in downtime. This unique system senses modifications in the physical environment and makes adjustments for those changes. This system also performs an accurate, non-contact cartridge inventory, which requires less than a minute, by scanning each cartridge location and reporting the presence or absence of a cartridge.

Scalable Upgrade Architecture

The Q Series family of products range from a single stand-alone drive to a 4 drive 60 cartridge DLT data storage power- house. Features such as a universal drive mount plate, and the PassThru mechanism illustrate our commitment to a scalable architecture, which utilizes your current storage investments

Software Compatibility

The Q Series of data libraries offer easy integration with the industry's leading backup software packages. We have pre-tested and qualified more than forty software packages and are vested in continuing to assure that a Breece Hill library and software solution is available to meet your specific needs.
