High Performance Network-Ready CD-ROM and DVD-ROM Servers

Meridian Data's 900 series servers combine industry-leading CD Net® software with a robust network-ready server designed for sharing CD- and DVD-ROM optical drives. Consistently judged #1 by Datapro, the 900 series family of networking solutions provides access to up to 56 drives of online information per server. The 900 series servers are an excellent choice for environments where it is preferable to add another server for shared CD and DVD support.

High Throughput

The system employs a Pentium-class microprocessor and a large system memory cache. Direct high-speed network connection is included. Standard PCI bus expansion interfaces allow upgrades with alternative LAN adapters and additional SCSI adapters.

Tower or Rack-Mount

900 series servers are available in a choice of tower or rack-mount enclosures providing all internal cabling and power. Tower models are designed to sit on the floor and are equipped with a see-through, locking optical drive bay door. The sturdy rack mountable models are designed as drawers that fit into industry-standard 19-inch rack enclosures. For environments demanding the highest reliability and uptime, 900 series rack-mount models are available with dual redundant hot-swappable power supplies and fans, hot-swappable optical drives and audio/visual power alarms.

Fits Any Requirement

From an entry-level solution up to 56 drives on a single processor, 900 series servers are a versatile solution to suit most network requirements. A server can be populated with a mixture of CD-ROM and DVD-ROM drives to fit most any requirement.

Software Options

900 series servers are designed to run robust multi-tasking, multi-user operating systems such as Microsoft Windows NT Server or Novell IntranetWare. Choose Meridian's award-winning CD Net software to go with the 900 series. This software provides graphical management tools, native NT or NetWare file system integration and security, the ability to flexibly combine multiple CDs and DVDs into a single logical volume for the network, and an easy-to-use application management system designed for setting up point and click application access for end users. Multiple systems can be managed with the graphical tools provided with CD Net software.

Field-Proven Reliability

All components are carefully tested and selected from leading manufacturers to provide an optimal mixture of features, performance, reliability and cost-effectiveness for networked applications. Optical drives support a wide range of disc format standards such as DVD-ROM and CD-ROM, multisession, Photo CD and CD-ROM XA.

Quality and Support

Meridian introduced the first network CD-ROM system in 1988, and today there are millions of installed seats using our technology. 900 series servers offer a modular and complete system family from a vendor with a long-term perspective. And we back up our products with our no-nonsense warranty and world-class technical support, consistently rated the best in the business.
