Kareem Abdul-Jabbar

It was a shot of majestic grace, gently flicked from the fingertips of a fully extended arm outstretched from a 7-foot-2-inch frame jumping several inches off the floor.  It looked like a rain drop from the sky, honing in on its target with the precision of a guide missile and the softness of a snowflake.

The sky hook was Kareem Abdul-Jabbar's trademark.  The greatest offensive weapon in sports history.  It enabled Abdul-Jabbar to become the NBA's all-time leading scorer and a six-time MVP, the most complete center basketball has ever seen.

In the NBA, he led the Milwaukee Bucks to the league championship in 1971 -- only the third year of existence in the league.  And the L.A Lakers to five titles in the 1980's.  He won Rookie of the year in 1970, and his six MVP awards are the most ever won by a single player, and he was a two-time NBA Finals MVP and an unprecedented 19-time NBA All-Star.
