There are many organizations that fight for many causes relating to Internet and Law. Some are all about freedom of speech while others are about international business laws. EFF - Electronic Frontier Foundation There mission is to:
They are a non-profit organization that was founded in 1990 and is based in San Francisco, California. They wish to protect human rights that may and are violated by the Internet. They are set up like a company and people can join their fight. |

IL&PF - Internet Law & Policy Forum This organization is dedicated to the promotion of global growth of e-commerce. They are concerned about the transactions that occur across boarders over the Internet. They wish to have laws that regulate International E-Commerce. They provide information to lawyers concerning cases that involve e-commerce. They seem like less of a company, but rather a convention that meets to discuss issues. CIEC - Citizens Internet Empowerment Coalition This organization was formed in 1997 to combat US Congress' attempt to regulate the content on the Internet with "The Communications Decency Act". They are fighting for their first amendment - freedom of speech. The site is basically about all the court appeals and the news surrounding the CDA case. It seems like the least organized group of the three. EFF looks like the best organization that will be able to save our freedom of speech and human right. It is the most professional and provides lots of information. |
