On this page I am making available some favicons
I have collected. You may download the zip file containing the icons in
the box above, plus this background of two of our favorite people on ZDTV:-),
or you may right click on the icons below you want to save and select
"save target as...". If you simply click on the picture you will
be taken to a page displaying only a picture of the icon.
Here are the other favicons I have collected
so far: Right click on the picture, then select "save target as..." to
save the icon. Note: the actual icons don't have the white space you see
around them here.

Using the icons
Note: these icons can be used in any
version of I.E. So even if you don't have I.E. 5.0 you can use them.
I have had a person with I.E. 5.0, 4.0, and even 3.2 test them for me.
To change your icons in IE any version do this: Right click on the
favorites' entry whose icon you wish to change. Now select properties/browse.
Now just find the folder you unzipped these icons to and select the one
you want.
Saving favicons
If you have IE 5.0 and wish to save the favorite
icons to use when they are overwritten in your temporary internet files,
do a search for favicon. Copy the ones you want and place them in
the folder where you keep any other icons you have. There seems to
be a problem with IE 5.0 losing it's ability to show these icons, so I
recommend you do this if you want to keep this feature.
How to get more favicons
If you would like an icon for other sites that
don't have a favicon, go to that site,
copy any appropriate logo, making sure to
save it as a bitmap. Click on the arrow beside save as type, and select
bitmap. Now find the new bitmap and rename with an ico extension.
Then you can change any icon you please in any version of I.E.
Or you can e-mail me and give me the url of
the page you want a favicon for and I will add it to this page. If
you have some favicons you have collected and would like to share them
with the rest of us, send them to me and I will post them here for you.
I find these special icons make it much easier
to find the file you want in your favorites folder, especially if you have
many entries in your folder.
