John married Lavena Ann Haines "Lavenia" on 9 Jan 1837 in Greene County, Ohio. Lavena was born on 28 Jul 1819 in Virginia (now West Virginia). She died on 2 Jan 1906 in Niles Township, Deleware County, Indiana and was buried in Eaton Cemetery, Eaton, Indiana.
