"I don't think they're here Isis." Parker said as he sat down beside her.
"I'm beginning to agree with you." She said as she played with her MRE.
Rei and FG approached the duo on the grass, MREs in hand. "Well, we've finished analyzing the UAV material. There aren't any signs of life on this side of the planet." Rei said as she took one look at what was supposed to be macaroni and cheese and tossed it aside instead. "If I eat one more of those things I'm going to sue for abusive treatment of my taste buds."
Irish approached and Justin and Odis quickly followed. Soon after they arrived, Franks and Corry came back from their recon. Jen was the last to arrive.
"So! What do we do now people? Ideas, suggestions and helpful comments would be greatly appreciated right now." Isis said as the local sun set and the stars started appearing.
"They may be off planet by now." Irish spoke up.
"Or on the other side, away from the Stargate." Justin countered.
"Has anyone found any evidence of caves in the area or Tok'ra activity?" Franks asked the group. Everyone shook their heads no.
Silence fell on the group that was now huddled together by a campfire that lit up the darkness around them. It was going to be another cold night.
Parker sat up suddenly. "Anyone notice anything strange about this planet?"
"Like what?" Isis asked as she sipped her hot coffee.
"Like how we've been here for a few days and I haven't seen any signs of animal life. No animal tracks, no birds singing, no carcasses around, nothing! Doesn't that seem a bit strange?" He looked around the group.
"You know, now that you mention it, neither have I." FG replied. He saw the others nodding their heads in agreement. "But what exactly does that mean?"
"That is the billion dollar question FG." Jen answered.
"I bet when we find the answer to that question, we find the others." Isis didn't like the feeling she just got in her gut.

     {Meanwhile, someplace else....}

Darkness was all that Vansen could see. She felt as if she was coming out of a serious hangover. She knew she couldn't see but she didn't know why. She felt her face and sighed with relief to find that her eyes were still in their sockets and apparently not injured. She blinked but the darkness remained. 'Great!' She thought to herself. 'I'm either blind or someone forgot to switch on the lights.'
She started to slowly crawl across the floor, using her hands to feel the floor in front her. She came across something warm. It felt like a hand. She was about to speak out when she heard a groan. She froze in fear. The hand she was holding began to move. She felt claws come out of the fingers. A voice whispered in her ear, "I see you!" Chills ran down her spine. She tried to get away but the ground took a sudden downward angle and she slipped and fell towards the bottom. She felt a sharp pain in her abdomen and reached for the source of the pain. She felt a metal object sticking out of her stomach. She looked around in shock and saw hundreds of red eyes coming towards her. She finally found her voice and screamed in shear terror.
Vansen woke up screaming as someone was trying to calm her down. Her heart was beating rapidly and she had broken out in a cold sweat. It took her a few minutes to calm down. She slowly began to recognize Carter and Chic and the cold reality of her situation began to return to her.
"I'm sorry." Vansen panted as Chic leaned her against the wall.
"Hey, nothing to be sorry for." Chic tried to smile at her but failed miserably. She looked over at Carter. "Sam thinks that they're going to be coming for us soon. Better to be awake now than later anyways."
"Any idea on how long we've been here?" Vansen asked them. They both shook their heads no. "Nice of them to take our gear huh? Can't even leave us a lousy watch so we can tell the time." Her heartbeat was finally starting to slow down.
Noises could be heard getting closer to the door and soon it opened it to reveal Anubis and several more guards. They got to their feet and were ushered out of the room and down a long hallway. They were finally brought to a halt in a large room that had richly colored curtains hanging around it. They were pushed down onto their knees as another group entered from the doorway. They turned around when they heard Jack's voice griping about the need for rough treatment. Everyone eyed each other and got a brief satisfaction from knowing that everyone was alive and well. Their attention returned to the front when the curtains were pushed back to reveal a sarcophagus. As it opened, gold encrusted fingers emerged first, followed by the face and body of the one who now held them prisoner.
Jack and Daniel's jaw dropped in astonishment. "But you're dead?" Daniel whispered, not believing what his eyes were seeing.
"Who is this sir?" Carter asked. "Daniel? Who is it?"
She heard Daniel mumble Ra as she was hit on the back of the head by a guard, blissfully losing consciousness again.
Another adventure? Or continue this one?
