Chapter 16: Room Service

    Place: P8X-169
     Date: Unknown

The guards came into the dark, stone room and searched for Daniel. When they found him, they shot him with a zat gun. Jack and Teal'c tried to fight the guards but they were outnumbered and quickly subdued. They took Daniel with them when they left.

     {Later on...}

Daniel slowly woke up and silently wondered if those zat guns had a power setting. That sure didn't feel like the normal zat gun. A small part of his mind chuckled at the thought of knowing the difference by personal experience. "Well I don't want to experience that again." He said outloud.
"I've got this bad feeling that it's just going to get worse from here." Vansen said as she came into view with a glass of liquid. "Drink this, it should help."
Daniel took the glass as he sat up and wondered what it was for a brief moment before he took a sip. Deciding he liked the fruity beverage, he drank most of the glass in a few gulps. Taking a look at his surroundings he noticed that he was in a candle lit, gold and red room and laying on a very large bed. "Are you alright? Have you seen the others? How did we get here?"
Standing up, Vansen noticed that Daniel had finally realized what she was wearing. "Well, to answer the first question--yes I'm alright and I have seen Carter and Chic, briefly, but they appeared to be well. You're the first of the men that I've seen." Vansen got off the bed and started inspecting the different panels of the wall.
Daniel stood and promptly sat back down on the bed, his head not ready for sudden altitude changes. "Well, I was in the same cell with Jack, Teal'c, Shogun and Stealth...and other than being ignored and occasionally beaten by the guards, we're fine. I wonder why they chose to move me up here?"
Daniel was starting to feel light headed, like he was slightly drunk. "This stuff is strong." He said as he sat his glass down. "I wonder what's in it and what is that you're wearing? It looks like some ancient Roman cheerleading costume."
"Yeah well, it fits like one. I guess it's a good thing that I used to be one huh?" Vansen turned when she heard a snort. "What? You don't believe that I used to be cheerleader?" She did a standing back flip and popped up into a split jump, a rather poor one, but still a split jump. She went back to inspecting the walls.
"So what happened then, to make you go from girl-next-door-cheerleader to a special-ops-kick-your-ass-if-you-look-at-me-wrong kind of person?" Daniel stood up and walked over to the wall she was inspecting, crossing his arms in front of him.
Vansen ignored his query. "These walls are made up of panels. And there's a switch somewhere that activates them." Feeling the walls with her hands, she carefully searched for a hidden switch.
"You ignored my question." He pushed his glasses back up on his nose.
"Yes I did. My personal choices are not up for review." Vansen sighed. "Look--are you going to help me search for the switch that will open these panels or not?"
"What if we find the switch and the panel opens? What then? We don't know where we are or where the others are. And I don't think we can just go up to one of the guards and ask." He started looking at the walls and for any irregularities that may identify a hidden switch. "This would be easier if we had regular lighting." He noticed that he had broken out in a sweat and felt very warm. He placed his hand on the wall and the panel quickly slid aside and he fell into their warden's version of a bathroom.
"Daniel! Are you okay?" Vansen quickly stepped inside the small room and helped him sit up. "You don't look to good." She felt his forehead. "And you're hot."
He looked up at Vansen and his vision started growing dark. He tried to warn Vansen that he was going to pass-out but only got a few mumbled words out before he fell backwards. Vansen wasn't expecting it and was dragged down on top of Daniel as he fell.
Dragging her arm out from behind him, she said a few swear words and then grabbed him by his feet and dragged him back over to the bed.
"Gee whiz Daniel--how much do you weigh?" Vansen grunted as she tried to pick Daniel up and get him onto the bed. She slipped on the bed covering and fell backwards onto the bed with Daniel falling on top of her.
In her attempts to get just Daniel back into the bed, she failed to notice that she herself was starting to not feel so well. By the time she had finally fallen onto the bed with Daniel on top of her, she was too weak to push him off of her. Darkness descended as she passed out, the last thing she saw was her partially drunk glass of the fruit concoction that Daniel had gulped down. 'Stupid', she thought to herself. 'I should have known better.'

Another adventure? Or continue this one?
