Chapter 20: The Last Hand

    Place: Ra's Planet
     Date: Unknown

SG-1 and the three surviving members of SG-13 were dragged out of their cell and brought before Ra. Neither having the strength to fight the guards nor Ra, they waited on the floor where they were dropped.
Ra stepped down off his platform. "What are the codes to your iris?" He asked Daniel as he placed his hand under Daniel's chin. "Tell me and I will spare your lives." He was forcing Daniel to stare him straight in the eyes.
Daniel looked straight at Ra and calmly repied, "No."
Ra left Daniel and approached Teal'c. Waving to his guards, Teal'c was jerked up and dragged to one of the columns lining the walls. They tied his hands around the column and brought Ra his hand device.
He deliberately took his time in placing the device on his hand. Pausing beside O'Neill, Ra gave him an evil glare and knelt down to face him. "Tell me and I'll make his death a quick one."
     "Go to hell!"
Ra sneered. "It still exists in my universe. I'm sure Sokar would enjoy having you as his slaves." Standing up, Ra pointed his hand at Teal'c and unleashed a wave at Teal'c.
Teal'c was crushed against the pillar. As he sagged down, unconscious, blood marked the points of impact of Teal'c's head. The shock wave from the blast had bounced his head off the marble-like column three times.
O'Neill raged with fury and made a leap for Ra. The guards were quicker and started beating him with their staff weapons. Shogun and Daniel tried to defeat the guards but they too were beaten for their efforts.
The women of the group were busy taking the advantage of the distraction to get a better look at the room. What they saw gave them hope of escape. What they saw was a laser target on the back of the guards' heads.
"I'll tell you if you stop hurting them!" Sam shouted.
Ra insistently stopped the guards and looked at her. "Tell me the codes to the iris and I'll make sure they die quickly instead of being slowly tortured to death." His face was distorted with evil pleasure.
"You let them go through the Stargate and then I'll tell you the code."
"You tell me now or you shall watch your friends die a most painful death."
Sam looked at Vansen and Chic. They slightly nodded at Sam. "Alright I'll tell you. The code is "aim for the medulla."
Ra looked puzzled until brains started splattering on him. Vansen and Chic rushed over and started untying Teal'c from the column. Angry, Ra placed his hand device on Sam's forehead and activated it.
O'Neill, starting to recover from his beating, looked around and saw Sam getting her brains scrambled. He quickly crawled over to the dead guards and grabbed one of the staff weapons. Without hesitation, O'Neill fired the staff at Ra, hitting him in the back. Sam fell free from the device and collapsed on the floor. O'Neill fired off another shot, this time blowing off Ra's head.
"Now there's a fitting end for snake head." O'Neill panted as his chest fell back towards the floor.
"MEDIC!" Isis shouted as she ran over the missing team members. Doing a quick inspection, she turned to O'Neill. "You just can't keep out of trouble can you?"
"Well you know me." He grimaced as he tried to move.
"Don't move. Your leg is definitely broken."
     "It's fine."
"Colonel, the angle it's currently resting in is not a natural one I assure you. Not to mention the fact that your bone is sticking through your pant leg."
Gritting through his teeth, "Daniel and Shogun have infected leg wounds. They're going to need antibiotics immediately."
"Franks and Odis are taking care of them. Where's Davis?"
Vansen answered her. "He died two days ago. His injuries were too severe."
Isis started to ask another question but was cut off by Irish. "General, we have more guards approaching this room. I suggest we call Aldwin and start evac'ing people now."
"Right. Questions can wait till later. Call him and get these people out of here."
Isis stood up and decided to use Jack's position as the place to be used for transport rings. "Corry, Jen, Justin, Franks--go with Jack and Teal'c in the first transport. You'll need to be careful with the Colonel when you move him out of the rings platform. Daniel and Shogun will go up with Sam and Irish, Parker, and FG. The rest of us will hold off the guards and will be up as soon as you get the injured out of the way." Isis told everyone.
Aldwin activated the rings and the first group vanished as the first group of guards came into view. The firefight quickly started as 13 continued to fall back to provide cover fire for those escaping.
As the last group was called to leave, Isis took out a special surprise she had been given by General Carter while she suited up. Placing it underneath Ras throne chair, she quickly ran to the group as the guards entered the chamber and started firing on them. Ducking down as the rings appeared around them, they soon found themselves on the Tok'ra transport ship.
Isis ran to Aldwin. "GET US OUT OF HERE NOW!!!"
Aldwin ran to the pilot's station and lifted off.
Isis looked at her rag tag crew. She was damned proud of them. One fatally wounded. Five injured. Two lucky s.o.b.'s. No more trips through the liquid air. And one nice little deceptively small package left as a going away present courtesy of the Tok'ra and SG-13.
"Are we out of range yet Aldwin?" Isis asked as she slid into the co-pilot's seat.
"We just entered hyperspace and the package should be detonating in 30 seconds. We will drop out of hyperspace right before then just to be safe."
A chime sounded and the stars came back into focus. "The planet should be destroyed in five seconds." Isis watched as the countdown clock slowly ticked off the seconds. After 30 seconds had passed, Aldwin moved the vehicle back into hyperspace and towards one of the friendly planets. "We will reach our allies in 3 hours and from there you can go back to Earth."
Isis smiled. "Thanks Aldwin. We couldn't have done it without your help. Or the Tok'ra's help for that matter."
"I am just glad that Selmac was able to convince the council to allow my mission. If Ra had been able to succeed in getting a foothold in this universe, it would have had dire consequences for the entire universe."

Another adventure? Or finish this one?
