Late April

A couple of shots of a barrel cactus budding from the top (possibly unnaturally).

This one is flowering out of sync with the rest. All the rest had already flowered several weeks ago. The quarter is to show scale.

A bindweed vine, related to morning glory. A book of matches for scale.

Some small flowering plants. Again, a quarter.

A desert poppy. (no opium here)

This is the first snake I've seen this year. It was still sluggish and easily maneuvered

for the pics. It was about two and a half feet long, an older snake with ten rattles left

after several were lost along the way. Oh, there's that quarter again.
