A cable modem only allows you to connect to the internet. So you may wish to keep your old dial modem just to send faxes. @Home does offer a faxing service but its just to expensive. You could also use these Web Sites to send your faxes for FREE. By sending email they send the fax. The links I have provided since I last checks where free. I would check them all out and then make a choice.
