I spent my early years of life in the East Hollywood area of California near the intersection of Hollywood Blvd. and Vermont Ave. During 7th grade, many days I passed by the old Monogram/Allied Artists Studio on my way home from school. The alley I played in and traveled through virtually every day of my youth was the alley used for the back entrance to Dr. Miles' office. In fact, I had a friend who lived in the back part of the second story of the building, the same floor where Dr. Miles' office was located, and where I played several times. Some of the locations I discovered either by accident or because a movie still of the film showed the actual street sign in the background. However, I had only discovered less than half of the filming sites (or knew where they were) before I discovered that in the State Historical Society of Wisconsin Library in Madison, Wisconsin, the Walter Wanger Archive was located there. In those archives are three versions of the script, but it is the third one, identified as the "Final Revised 3/17/55", that contained a page with ALL of the filming locations, addresses, and contacts. I gratefully acknowledge the kind and generous assistance of Melissa R. Janz, Reference Assistant at the State Historical Society of Wisconsin, without whose help the website would not be complete. I also have made extensive use of the book "Invasion of the Body Snatchers" by Don Siegel, director, Al LaValley, editor (Rutgers University Press 1989).
