Emptiness

I walked into the shadow of emptiness
there were no trees or green grass
no sunshine, no air
windless and silent

I walked into the dream of emptiness
with no children's laughter
no smile, no magic, no color

I am walking among the people of emptiness
with my uncaring eyes
gazing up at the empty sky

I am walking into an empty home
with no music, no space, no love
no hugs or kisses
no sound, no life

This emptiness is exploding inside of me
making me suffer
I try to get away
yet the emptiness has no bound
I try to yell
but only the emptiness fills the air
and I realize
the only thing that belongs to me is my emptiness
