INSTRUMENTATION
The Instrumentation industry has gained prominence in recent years both in terms of development of instruments and in the application o the same for control of production processes, mechanisation of productions and operations, remote sensing and control equipment. Further, as a result of development on technology, increasing in use is made of hydraulic, penumatic, fludic and electronic conjunction with electro mechanical equipment. Large plants with complex operations need individually designed instrumentation and control systems. The scope ofinstrumentation is wide and its application covers all the industries as well as hospitals and research laboratories. As the industry are growing rapidlythey need trained engineers and technicians to design, manufacture, (calibrate) and service the sophisticated equipmentat oresent qualified instrumentation engineers. At present qualified instrumentation engineers are in short supply and hence the diploma course in instrumentation will meet the part of demands of industries in this field.
