From: "zzz...zzz...zzz...zzz [email protected] An easy way to fake out the soviets (as allies) is to build about 3 or 4 bases all around the map. I know it sounds expensive but if you use fake structures it won't cost much. When you get an A-Bomb, lure them into one of your fake bases and blow them all to smitherines. My suggestion for spreading them out is the travelling sandbag technique (but in Red Alert, sandbags don't expand your building range so use Ore Silos instead of sandbags).

From:Chris [email protected] Subject:RA First off, when u are soviets, deploy your construction yard IMMEDIATLY! Then build 5 Advanced Power Plants. After that build an ore refinery or two. Then build 2 war factories. Keep building power plants because whoever you are playing will try to get at them under no circumstances. Then build a Tech center and then another Ore truck. Your money will be rolling in. (if not you probably skipped a step) Then build as many Tesla Coils as you need. Then keep cranking out Mammoth tanks until you are sure Rommel will be envious.(A LOT!) Well, about 15-20 M-Tanks will do. Then send your tanks to just blow you enemy away! Trust me, His base will be blown into tomorrow!

Subject: RA strategies Illumina05 I think this was already said, but here is my strategy: If you are playing as soviets, the easiest way to destroy ANY enemy base is this: First, buff up your base with good defense around the perimeters so nothing can get in. Then, build at least ten airfields and use Yaks, or if you can, Migs. Once you do that, first destroy the allied construction yard so they can't build any more buildings. Then destroy their warfactory, then the majority of their power plants. But do NOT destroy their barracks because most of the time when you destroy their major buildings, they will sell everything and attack you. Instead, start destroying there tanks and men etc.. Then send over a fleet of tanks and annihilate them!

Okay here is a trick to mess up your opponents quickly in the beginning of the game. As Soviets make 3 grenadiers and send them all the way to the north of your base. Then make 3 more grenadiers and send them directly west. Send them over to your enemies base. If he isn't well defended nail his power plants. If you manage to destroy his power plant he's pretty much screwed. You'll have like 10 minutes advantage. You can tank rush after this

They say that Cruisers can't take out hidden subs, HA! Send your fleet of Cruisers wherever you want them to go, then just tell your Cruisers to force fire every so often in front of them. My friend did this while I was playing against him and I lost about 20 submerged subs and he came into my base untouched! Since Cruisers have a better range then subs do it is very important to aim fairly far away or else your Cruisers will survive about as long as a pork chop thrown in a pool of pirhanas! Grim Reaper

One tactic a lot of people overlook when playing as the allies is the use of fake structures. I like to use them as following:
After you deploy your gap generators, place some fake structures just at or outside the edge of the area covered by the generators. It works really well if just part of the building is showing. Your opponent thinks you have made a mistake and left a valuable building uncovered. Then place a group of 10-12 rocketmen just inside the area cloaked by the gap generator next to the building(s). Make sure your opponent can't see them. Your opponent will build enough air units to attack your structure(s) and will be very suprised when they get shot down by the hidden air defense. Even if they do get enough planes/helicopters in to destroy the building, it doesn't matter since it was fake and they have just wasted a lot of valuable $$ on the air units lost.

I found out that it is best to FIRST make a strong financial basis, and only then make a vast army. This way, you will probably never halt your building because of 0 money. This is how i start:
Deploy construction yard Build power plant Build barracks (Only if unit count is 0 - if not skip to next step ) - build soldiers and send some to enemy. Build Refinery Build War Factory Build Refinery while building an ore truck in the War Factory) Build Advanced power plant while building an ore truck in the War Factory) Build War Factory while building an ore truck in the War Factory) Now, it depends on which side you chose :
Soviets:
Build WF while building heavy tanks) Build Radar Build Airfield Allies :
The Possibilities are ENDLESS. Basically, try to build a tech center as fast as possible And support it with Power plants! ) . Now it all depends on how you want to play the game. If you want a Naval Strike Build Naval yards. If you want a ground attack build A LOT of tanks especially against the sovs! ). Note : building10,000 ships probably wont save your base from a mass ground attack - so always build ground defenses.

Basically, playing with sovs means tank rushing. All you have to do is build tanks. but if you really want a fun game, use these tactics :
Build Migs, and use WAYPOINTS. That means, dont tell them directly to go to an enemy base, rather find out a good path where no mammoth tanks, bazooka guys, AA guns, and SAMs are ) and use the CTRL button to tell them to go to a place. When they arive - tell them to go to another place ... and so on.. By this you can use the waypoint tactic to fly by enemy air defense - and strike the enemy base. Note : 8 Migs is the optimal number - because 6 migs can destroy anything, but u must consider the fact that u screw up and lose 2 migs on the way. Build a Chinook, and load it up with 5 tanyas. Use the Waypoint tactic to land IN the enemy base. Build ONLY tanks. use 3 - 4 War factories. If you followed my beginning and are on a good map, the money flow should be good enough to supprt A LOT of tanks. You might want to build up to 3 refineries and 8 ore harvesters. Use the paratroopers to hit ONLY power plants and tech centers. Try to get more to the Tech Center. These are weak buildings, that can die in a paratroops attack. *Dont build ONLY mammoths... their shooting rate is slow... always make units with heavy tanks and mammoths. Allies :
Instead of a Chinook tanya attack, use the APC to land tanya. Build like 4 APCs and send them all to the base. Equip only ONE with tanyas. That way the 3 dummies should use as decoys to lure the enemy mobile defense. While the defense is attacking the decoys, land tanyas - and blow up the enemy base. Once you get the GPS satellite, you will be able to see the whole map. Now, try to locate the NEXT ore field that the enemy will go to most of the time its closest to his base ). Build 3 - 5 mine layers and mine the field. This will give you about 5 minutes where the enemy wont build anything, because the lack of money. Take your ships to lakes where the enemy didnt make sub defense. That way they can use as ground defense as well as offense. If you're playing genst the allies, quickly build a spy or two and send it over to the enemy base. That way, when the enemy makes gap generators, you will be able to see exactly what he is building. Dont build light tanks Except in the beginning. Use mobile gap generators to lure enemy forces to places where there are nothing. While they are attacking your mobile GG, go to the opposite direction and either take out their harvesters, or take out their base. *If you're in a stand off where one side has to begin attacking - u must be the on who attacks- dont wait for the other guy. that way, he'll be confused for 10 secs or so - which might be the key to yr win. *before attacking, bring like 4 radar jammers equipped with mobile gap generators to jam radar... he'll be so confused he'll leave the battle field to build another radar.. and you have a 15 second lead. General tactics :
Try to make mass movements. Dont use a certain group of units just because you HAVE them like if you have 3 migs, or 2 cruisers . By using them, not only will you LOSE them, you will alert the enemy, and he will know what to prepare for - and you might lose a whole way of fighting him Always use a attack force. Dont ever attack a place you are not certain to win in and leave your base un guarded. Always try to find out more on the enemy base by sending fast units jeeps, radar jammers, apc Use forces who get killed easily migs, tanyas, longbows on IMPORTANT targets. If the enemy has 5 tech centers, there is no way u can kill them all at once. Try to locate buildings using the info tactic which might give you a 3 - 10 minute enemy hault such as power stations, refineries, war factories . *Instead of making one gigantic tank unit, split it up to big units and try to capture as much land as u can.. that way more tanks will be useful during attacks.. A cool way to kill tanyas is to do an action that will force the enemy into concentrating on it like sending tanks to his ore trucks and then using the ALT button sending a fast unit to run over the tanyas. Always concentrate on what the ENEMY is building. Dont build things blindly Example : building migs when the enemy has 40 bazooka people . Always change your style according to the player. I usually execute all my regular soldiers. That way, finding spies is much easier This better not get to the UN or something. Use bazooka guys genst air attacks.They are cheaper and dont need electricity. Also, take them along with a large tank attack so they can defend the tanks. You can also guess approximately where the air units will fly through and put them there. Note : putting bazooka guys AFTER a unit u want to defend is useless. You have to put it before the unit. That way you can kill the air units BEFORE they fire. This is kinda cheating but its REALLY cool. when you're moving STRONG SLOW units like mammoths and cruisers mark them as a group with REAL fast units and use the F button to make them like formation. he he. that way all the units will be really fast I call them lamborghini mammoths. For ground units use radar jammers or mine layerrs. for cruisers use the deploying ships. I just found out that waypointing is done with the Q button.cool.

1Defense against Migs: It's true, 6 to 8 Migs can take out any building, if the defender doesn't know what he's doing. As the Allies, it's easy to defend against this attack. If you place AA and rocket infantry RI in a big clump, they will all fire at the same Mig, destroying it, but leaving the next 4 the hit your buildings unscathed. It takes 4 rockets to take down a Mig. Using that, spread RI over your base. If you don't have internal infantry defense you should against Soviets, then place one rifle infantry RfI with everyone RI. This is also a great general defense. As soviets, do the same thing, but you can place SAM sites close, because they have a fast refire rate. Also, if any aircraft are pestering your ore trucks, place RI on escort duty ctrl + alt and click. They won't clump, and will move.
2 Attacking those pesky Tesla Coils: Aren't tesla coils so annoying? Well there is an easy way around them. As the Soviets, just use V2s. Allies, it's a little harder. If they don't have many tanks, try this great trick. Get as many tanks out of their base by whatever means possible except risking your main tank force. Then, rush into their base with light and medium tanks LT and MT. Have artillery Ar attack the tesla coils. Sure, you will lose tanks, but hold on. Find their power plants and blast them. You need at least 6 tanks per tesla coil, plus extras if they have other defenses. Once they go under power-wise, bring the Ar into pound their base. Any remaining tanks should attack their war factory. It helps to bring in APC's now with troops to help clean up or engineers to steal some buildings. If they have too many tanks for this to work, try this tactic. Attack one side of their base with a few tanks you can spare to distract them. Bring in APC's from a different side filled with RI attacking the Tesla coils. The APC's can shoot through the walls. When they get popped, the RI will escape and attack the tesla coils. Two or three per coil works fine. Bring Tanks for support.
3Allies or Soviets If you're experienced, you probably don't need advise on this, but novices need to choose. Soviets are good for any quick strike tactics, and well as armaggedon assults. Allies are better for planned assults, and for defense. The Allies also must use their naval advantage a lot.

This has worked on my friend two times, and he is defenseless when I destroy his construction yard and surrounding buildings which are usually his most precious ones.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- When you have an a-bomb and money, build first some air-support. migs when u are russia and appache's when you are allies a Construction yard takes 6 migs to demolish. power plant and ore refinery 5. Build about 15/20 migs/appaches and make groupes of them 5 migs/appaches in one group. First send you airforce one group to a construction yard and when they are firing, nuke it. In the mean time, use your other planes to take out other contruction yards and powerplants. In multiplayer games, it is important to wack first the contruction yard and then the power plants. the orerefiners are of no use, when u have no power building is slow. When all power plants are demolished, he has to sell his base, because he doesn't have enough power to build.
Aftermath: Don not try to iron curtain or chronosphere a demo-truck . IT WILL EXPLODE!
Wh en you are allies. and you can be reached over water and over a a little land, assemble your cruisers nearby not to close to shore, because then the tanks start shooting on them and assemble some gunboats too! Cruises are no match for submarines. One submarine can take out your entire cruiser fleet. Always have some gun boats ready In multiplayer Games, always build 2 bases and in every base s construction yards. Also are allies better, because Gap generators and a GPS are very useful.
